CHANDIGARH, 21.12.25-Workshop Organized Under Atal Smriti Year to Carry Forward the Legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee

On the occasion of the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Atal Smriti Year is being observed by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chandigarh. In this regard, a significant workshop was organized at the BJP Chandigarh State Office.

The workshop was attended by state office bearers, district office bearers, in-charges of various morchas, cells and departments. The program was chaired by State Vice President Bharat Kumar, while State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti was the chief speaker.

The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Naresh Panchal along with all five members of his team. Shakti Prakash Devshali and Councillor Mahesh Indra Sidhu also addressed the gathering.

Speakers stated that Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a visionary statesman who led India into the 21st century. His legacy of good governance includes landmark achievements such as the Pokhran-II nuclear tests, strong leadership during critical times and the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. A comprehensive campaign focusing on dialogue, culture and governance has been proposed to honor his legacy and inspire citizens.

Referring to the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was said that 25th September is remembered as Atal Day of Good Governance. Atal Bihari Vajpayee earned a special place in the hearts of millions through his simplicity and dedication. The nation remains grateful for his contributions. During the birth centenary year, BJP will organize programs across the country highlighting his political journey and contributions to governance.

It was emphasized that party workers from booth level to national level will be mobilized to strengthen the organization and reinforce BJP’s role as the custodian of the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

As per the announced programs:

On 24 December, a floral tribute program will be organized by offering garlands at the statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

On the same evening, Deepotsav will be organized in front of the statues and at state and district BJP offices.

Between 25 and 31 December, Atal Samriddhi Conferences will be organized in all districts, where three speakers will highlight different aspects of the life and achievements of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Seven-day Atal Smriti exhibitions will be organized at party offices, local bodies and public places.

Good Governance Conferences will be held in all municipal corporations and policy research institutions.

Proposals were discussed to name squares, intersections and parks after Atal Bihari Vajpayee, along with a dedicated Atal Van initiative.

At the district level, poetry meets, painting, graphics, quiz, rangoli, speech and essay competitions will be organized.
