India International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM)–2026 Gets Underway

Chandigarh / New Delhi, January 21, 2026:The Election Commission of India’s (ECI) three-day International Conference on Democracy and Election Management (IICDEM)–2026 commenced today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

In a specially organized Reception Ceremony, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India, Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, formally welcomed nearly 60 international delegates representing Election Management Bodies (EMBs) from across the world.

The conference got underway with a grand Inaugural Session, attended by nearly 1,000 participants
