Chandigarh, January 28, 2026 - The Postgraduate Department of Computer Science and Applications successfully organized a technical hands-on workshop on “Code to Intelligence” on 28th January, 2026 under the PM-USHA scheme. The workshop was designed to equip participants with the latest practices in intelligent coding, helping to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. It also focused on nurturing practical, industry-ready skills by exposing students to real-world development approaches and emerging technological trends.
The session was conducted by Ms. Damanpreet Kaur, Training Head, and Mr. Hridey Kumar, Senior Technical Lead (Web & Mobile), SUNFOCUS Solutions Pvt. Ltd. With over 25 years of experience in training and learning initiatives, Ms. Kaur possesses specialized expertise in mentoring students and professionals, managing training teams, and coordinating corporate placements. On the other side, Mr. Hridey has led the development of large-scale web and mobile applications across sectors, including community platforms, finance, healthcare, and AI-driven systems. He has a great experience in building end-to-end products from proof of concepts to production, including the integration of AI/LLM-driven workflows, intelligent automation, data processing and analytics.
In his session, the resource person provided a comprehensive overview of modern web and application development practices. The session covered core concepts of full stack architecture, popular frameworks, and key frontend and backend technologies used in the industry. Participants were introduced to mobile application development fundamentals and the role of AI integration tools in building scalable solutions. Special emphasis was laid on the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js), highlighting its real-world applications and industry relevance. The workshop enabled students to gain clarity on end-to-end development workflows and emerging career opportunities in full stack development.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Sharma, Principal of GGDSD College, with a green welcome to the speaker, along with Dr. Rina, Convenor of the event. The principal encouraged students to acquire analytics skills and highlighted the growing significance of AI-driven decision-making systems. He also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Pooja Mohan and Dr. Archana Goyal, the organizing secretaries, for putting together such an engaging and challenging program.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rina, Head of the Department, who acknowledged the efforts of the resource persons, participants, and the organizing team in making the workshop a success.
