IMA organises Walkathon in Karnal
Chandigarh, April 12 – Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sh. Harvinder Kalyan said that the recently launched HPV vaccine will help protect women from cervical cancer and should be administered on time.
Sh. Kalyan was speaking as the Chief Guest at a walkathon organised by the local unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Karnal on Sunday. The walkathon, aimed at spreading awareness about cervical cancer among women, was organised from Karnal Club to the Civil Hospital. Members of the IMA, along with representatives of various social organisations, participated in the event.
He said that the vaccine to prevent cervical cancer among women was recently launched by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi. The objective behind organising the walkathon is to generate awareness about cervical cancer. He added that such programmes yield positive outcomes and play an important role in sensitising society.
Emphasising the need for awareness, he said that along with strengthening development and systems in society, public awareness is essential. When citizens move forward with awareness, their participation in social activities increases, which ultimately benefits society and the nation.

‘Savidhan Yatra’ flagged off from Chandigarh to Delhi
Chandigarh, April 12 – Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs and BCs Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, said that B.R. Ambedkar dedicated his life to the welfare of all sections of society and played a pivotal role in uniting the nation.
The Minister was addressing a programme organised at his Chandigarh residence on the occasion of Dr. Ambedkar Jayanti on Sunday. He also flagged off the ‘Savidhan Bus Yatra’ from Chandigarh to Delhi. Devotees in three buses will visit Baba Saheb's memorial on Alipur Road in Delhi. BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Kaushik was also present on this occasion.
Sh. Bedi said that Dr. Ambedkar was a true nationalist who ensured that the country remained united. Recalling his participation in the Round Table Conference in London, he said that despite suggestions by the British to demand a separate nation, Dr. Ambedkar refused it and instead resolved to work within the country to secure dignity and justice for the oppressed sections through democratic means.
He said that by framing the Constitution, he ensured rights and justice for the poor and marginalized sections of society. He said that the present government is effectively implementing the pro-people policies and programmes inspired by Dr. Ambedkar. He highlighted that five key sites associated with Dr. Ambedkar have been developed as “Panch Teerth,” which have become major places of inspiration for citizens.
The Minister said that Dr. Ambedkar always advocated social unity and remained committed to this cause throughout his life. He assured that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the rights of poor people are protected, and injustice will not be allowed.
BJP State President, Sh. Mohan Lal Kaushik said that the Constitution framed by Dr. Ambedkar has empowered the nation, and today India is progressing on the path shown by him. He said that people are visiting the ‘Panch Teerth’ sites to pay their homage, and these places represent the rich and invaluable heritage of the nation. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the government remains committed to strengthening women's empowerment.

Chandigarh, April 12– Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, and Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa visited the Barwala grain market on Sunday. They reviewed the arrangements for crop procurement and lifting, and also listened to the grievances of farmers and traders.
During the visit, farmers and traders accused a HAFED employee of harassing them. Taking serious note, the Agriculture Minister directed that the employee be suspended. He also sought detailed information regarding crop arrivals and lifting, and directed officers to ensure prompt lifting so that farmers do not face any inconvenience.
Regarding biometric verification of farmers, he said that farmers can register the names of three individuals for crop sale, and any one of them can come and sell the produce. Apart from thumb verification, options such as OTP and other alternatives have also been provided.
He further said that due to relatively lower temperatures in March this year, the wheat crop has been good, leading to an increase in per-acre yield. The Minister also directed officers to improve mandi arrangements.
He added that the effective implementation of schemes such as ‘Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana’, ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora portal’, ‘Uttam portal’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi’ and the ‘e-Kharid’ system has ensured fair prices for farmers’ produce while enhancing transparency.
The Minister said that the new mandi system is in the interest of farmers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritising the procurement of crops from local farmers.

Chandigarh, April 12 – Haryana Public Works Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that the life of Bharat Ratna, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, proves that despite limited resources, education can help overcome any obstacle.
Public Works Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa was addressing a felicitation ceremony organised on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti at village Balak, Hisar. He said that Babasaheb not only pursued education relentlessly but also empowered an oppressed society through the strength of knowledge.
Calling upon the youth to make books their companions, the Minister said that Babasaheb emphasised education and knowledge as the key to social and economic transformation. On this occasion, he also announced a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for the availability of books in the village library. He unveiled the statue of Babasaheb and paid homage to him.
The Minister further said that in line with Babasaheb’s vision, the government has implemented several welfare schemes, such as the ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ and ‘Ayushman Bharat’, aimed at ensuring that the benefits of development reach the last person in society. The Haryana Government is running the ‘Sant-Mahapurush Samman Vichar Prachar Evam Prasar Yojana’ to disseminate the teachings of saints and great personalities like Babasaheb among the masses, he added.
He also highlighted that various initiatives are being undertaken for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, including scholarship schemes for students, promotion of self-employment among youth, skill development programmes, and women empowerment schemes such as Lado Lakshmi.
He said that the Haryana Government is committed to the principle of “Antyodaya” to ensure that no section of society remains deprived of the mainstream of development.

Government ensuring procurement of every grain at MSP: Dr. Arvind Sharma
Cabinet Minister reviews wheat procurement process at Gohana Grain Market, issues directions to officers
No inconvenience should be caused to farmers
Chandigarh, April 12 – Haryana Cooperation Minister, Dr. Arvind Sharma said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the government and administration are ensuring the procurement of every grain of farmers’ produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
He directed officers to ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience at any stage, from biometric gate pass issuance to procurement and lifting of the crop.
The Minister conducted a surprise inspection of the Gohana grain market and personally checked the weighing of wheat stocks at the grain market (mandi). He directed the Market Committee as well as procurement agencies, including Warehousing and HAFED, to carry out the procurement process in a transparent manner and ensure that no farmer faces any difficulty.
He also directed the Market Committee Secretary, HAFED Manager and Warehouse Manager to coordinate with the contractor agency to ensure the timely lifting of wheat.
