MAHENDERGARH, 08.05.26-The School of Business and Management Studies at the Central University of Haryana organized a two-day hands-on workshop on “From Data to Decisions: Storytelling through Power BI and Tableau” on 6 and 7 May 2026 at Academic Block-III. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and research scholars. The primary objective of the workshop was to provide practical training in data visualization, dashboard creation, and analytical storytelling using modern business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Tableau.

Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar appreciated the initiative of organizing such skill-based and practical workshops for students. During the inaugural session, Prof. Sunita Tanwar, Dean, School of Business and Management Studies, welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the growing importance of analytical and visualization skills in today’s data-driven business environment.

On the first day of the workshop, Dr. Shitika, Assistant Professor, GGSIPU, New Delhi, conducted a technical session on Tableau. She elaborated on concepts related to data visualization, charts, dashboards, and effective principles of data presentation. She also engaged students through practical exercises and assignments to strengthen their analytical understanding.

The second-day session was conducted by Dr. Monica Rose, Adjunct Professor at GD Goenka University, Gurugram, and an international trainer. She introduced the participants to the basic concepts of Power BI, Power Query, and Power Pivot and provided practical training on data cleaning, transformation, visualization, and report generation. Through live demonstrations and interactive activities, students gained hands-on exposure to business intelligence tools and data-driven decision-making processes.

During the concluding session, Dr. Divya from the Department of Management Studies delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the resource persons, faculty members, organizers, and participants for making the workshop successful.
