CHANDIGARH,10.05.26-Association of gynaecologic oncologist of India (AGOI) Chandigarh Chapter in association with Dept of Obstetrics and gynaecology, PGIMER, Chandigarh successfully organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on “Cervical Cancer: A Holistic Approach from Prevention to Cure”.
The CME focused on cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination, screening, early diagnosis, and recent advances in treatment. The CME was inaugurated by the Director, PGIMER Prof Vivek Lal in the gracious presence of the Head Department of Obstetrics Gynaecology Prof Vanita Jain and the President of the Chandigarh Chapter of AGOI, Prof PK Saha,along with distinguished faculty members and delegates from various institutions of North India.
Around 150 participants attended the meeting. The scientific sessions highlighted the growing burden of cervical cancer in India and emphasized that the disease is largely preventable through timely HPV vaccination and effective screening strategies. Experts discussed the importance of increasing awareness regarding HPV vaccination, regular screening, and early detection for reducing cervical cancer-related morbidity and mortality. Eminent speakers also deliberated on recent advances in the management of cervical cancer, including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and multidisciplinary care. The CME provided an excellent platform for academic exchange and interactive discussions among clinicians, faculty members, and postgraduate students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and was highly appreciated for its rich scientific content and relevance to public health. The organizers expressed sincere gratitude to all faculty members, delegates, and participants for contributing to the success of the CME and reaffirmed their commitment toward strengthening awareness, prevention, and quality care in gynaecologic oncology.
