Chandigarh, May 15 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij reacted to the Delhi High Court initiating criminal contempt proceedings against Arvind Kejriwal and several leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, saying that the entity called the Aam Aadmi Party does not respect any institution in the country. “They neither respect the ED and CBI, nor the police and courts. From time to time, they insult every institution. Now it seems the court will teach them a proper lesson,” he said.

Sh. Vij was interacting with the media persons today in Ambala.

Welcoming the Election Commission’s announcement to conduct Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in 19 states, including Haryana, Energy Minister Anil Vij said that Haryana is fully prepared for it. He praised the Election Commission for undertaking the task of special revision voter lists across the country. He said that for the last 20 years, this work had not been done properly. Many people have moved away, several have died but their names still remain on the rolls, and many ineligible people have managed to get their names included through manipulations. Therefore, accurate voter lists are extremely important.

Reacting to the rise in petrol and diesel prices, Minister Anil Vij said it is natural because around 25 percent of India’s oil and gas comes through the Strait of Hormuz, which has now been blockaded by the United States. As a result, not a single oil tanker is able to pass through, and the consequences of this situation will have to be borne.

On the issue of renaming Sadar Bazaar Chowk and Nicholson Road in Ambala Cantonment, the Energy Minister said that since a statue of Maharana Pratap Ji has been installed at Sadar Bazaar Chowk, the chowk should be renamed as Maharana Pratap Chowk, and Nicholson Road should be renamed Maharana Pratap Road.
