One arrested in Excise Act
A Case FIR No. 77, u/s 61-1-14 Excise Act, has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Vikas Kumar S/o Rakesh Kumar, R/o Village Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended on 22.05.2026 from Slip Road near Petrol Pump, Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh, and 57 nips of country-made liquor (Make: Super Himmat Santra) were recovered from his possession. The accused was later released on bail.
One arrested in Fatal accident
A Case FIR No. 57, u/s 281, 125(A) & added 106(1) BNS, has been registered at Police Station South Division/PUR, Chandigarh against Suraj Kumar S/o Surinder Kumar, R/o Village Mastgarh (Punjab), driver of Car No. CH-01CR-6501. It was alleged that the accused, while driving the vehicle at high speed near Shri Nath Sales Marble Market, Dhanas, Chandigarh on 22.05.2026 at about 9:19 PM, hit pedestrian Bhibash Kumar S/o Biltu Mandal, resident of Kachi Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh, and fled from the spot. The injured pedestrian was shifted to PGI where he was declared brought dead by the attending doctor. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.
Cheating/Visa Fraud
A Case FIR No. 80, u/s 420, 120-B IPC, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Achhar Singh S/o Dayal Chand, R/o Village Gochar, District Mohali (Punjab) against Deepak Sharma (Proprietor), Satnam (Manager) and others of Shree Ram Overseas, SCO No. 67, 1st Floor and later SCO No. 76-79, 2nd Floor, Sector-17/D, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹17,00,000 on the pretext of arranging a visa.
A Case FIR No. 81, u/s 318(4), 223 BNS, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Pankaj Garg, R/o House No. 937/1, Sector-40/A, Chandigarh against Pardeep Kumar and others, R/o House No. 127, Sector-45/A, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused had taken House No. 3502/2, Sector-23/D, Chandigarh on rent for personal use but subsequently started operating PG accommodation services without the required permissions.
A Case FIR No. 82, u/s 318(4) BNS & Section 24 Immigration Act, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Nikhil Goyal S/o Sh. Kimat Rai, R/o Ajit Nagar, Nabha against Honey Tandon, owner of Sunlight Immigration, SCO No. 68-70, 4th Floor, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹13,75,000 regarding a visa matter.
A Case FIR No. 83, u/s 318(4) BNS & Section 24 Immigration Act, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Surat Singh S/o Hukum Singh, R/o House No. 4122, Sector-56, Chandigarh against Iqbal Singh Sandhu (Owner) and others of Visa Capital, SCO No. 77-79, 4th Floor, Sector-17/D, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹7,52,700 on the pretext of providing a visa.
A Case FIR No. 84, u/s 318(4) BNS & Section 24 Immigration Act, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajeev Kumar S/o Om Parkash, R/o House No. 155, Ward No. 1, Village Kot, Tehsil Nadaun (Himachal Pradesh) against Iqbal Singh Sandhu (Owner) and others of Visa Capital, SCO No. 77-79, 4th Floor, Sector-17/D, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹9,70,000 regarding a visa matter.
A Case FIR No. 85, u/s 318(4) BNS & Section 24 Immigration Act, has been registered at Police Station Sector-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Lovepreet Kaur D/o Sh. Krishan Singh, R/o Village Seel Jogipur, Patiala (Punjab) against Manpreet Singh (Owner) and others of M/s Finland Immigration, SCO No. 125-126, 2nd Floor, Sector-17/C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated her of ₹4,10,000 on the pretext of arranging a visa.
A Case FIR No. 70, u/s 406, 420 IPC, has been registered at Police Station Sector-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Mohan Bala W/o Harbir Singh, R/o Johar Majra, District Karnal (Haryana) against Gurinder Singh, Proprietor of Eagle-I-Advisor, SCO 364-365, Sector-34/A, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated her of ₹7,23,000 regarding visa services.
A Case FIR No. 81, u/s 316(2), 318(4), 61(2) BNS & Section 24 of the Immigration Act, has been registered at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurpreet Singh S/o Shamsher Singh, R/o Village Bhasaur, District Sangrur (Punjab) against Rajdeep and Shelley Sharma of Angad Info Overseas Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., SCO No. 483-484, 1st Floor, Sector-35/C, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹6,66,000 on the pretext of arranging a visa.
A Case FIR No. 64, u/s 316(2), 61(2) BNS, has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dev Vart S/o Suresh Kumar, R/o House No. 93/202, Friends Colony, Hisar (Haryana) against Harwinder Singh S/o Raghubir Singh, operating J.P. Car Rental, Cabin No. 12-13, Laxmi Market, Sector-38, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that he rented vehicle No. HR-67C-0001 to the accused, who subsequently misappropriated the vehicle by neither paying the hire charges nor returning the vehicle to its lawful owner.
Cheating/forged signature
A Case FIR No. 80, u/s 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC, has been registered at Police Station Sector-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Labh Singh Gill S/o Naurang Singh Gill, R/o Red House, London Road, Dunchurch Rugby, Warwickshire, United Kingdom against Mukesh, R/o House No. 344, Village Jul Khurd, Bhiwani (Haryana), and Sukhmeet Brar, R/o House No. 1017, Sector-30/B, Chandigarh. The complainant alleged that the accused cheated him of ₹15 lakh by forging his signatures on a fake property agreement dated 23.04.2024. No arrest has been made so far.
Cyber Cheating
A Case FIR No. 72, u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2) and 61(2) BNS, has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station, Chandigarh on the complaint of Shambhu S/o Sh. Kishore Yadav, R/o House No. 61, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh against an unknown person. The complainant alleged that the accused impersonated a bank employee using a fake identity and dishonestly cheated him of ₹2,26,304. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Theft
A Case FIR No. 63, u/s 303(2) BNS, has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Vikas Kumar S/o Lt. Somdatt, R/o House No. 207, Kishangarh, Chandigarh against an unknown person. The complainant alleged that the unknown accused stole copper wire of an air-conditioner from the rooftop of SCO No. 56, Sector-26, Chandigarh during the intervening night of 21/22.05.2026.
