Chandigarh, May 26:- To further strengthen enforcement measures against illegal encroachments and civic violations in the city, MC Joint Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Gupta today convened a comprehensive meeting with all Sub Divisional Engineers (SDEs), Junior Engineers (JEs), Enforcement inspectors, Sanitary Inspectors and Health Supervisors of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

During the meeting, detailed directions were issued to intensify field enforcement drives across the city and ensure strict action against encroachments on public spaces, unauthorized vending, illegal dumping and other violations affecting public convenience and cleanliness. The officers were instructed to enhance inter-departmental coordination and carry out regular inspections in markets, residential areas and other vulnerable locations.

The Joint Commissioner emphasized that maintaining public spaces free from encroachments is essential for smooth pedestrian movement, sanitation and urban discipline. He directed all concerned officials to ensure prompt issuance of challans against violators and undertake enforcement drives in a consistent and effective manner.
