Chandigarh, September 27, 2026:MY Bharat Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in association with Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, Chandigarh, organised the “My Health, My Pride” programme under the 100 Sundays Campaign of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat”.
The programme focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, preventive healthcare, nutrition, mental well-being and awareness about the ill-effects of addiction among youth. The “My Health, My Pride” theme forms part of the second Sunday of the 100 Sundays Campaign, with health check-ups and awareness sessions planned for MY Bharat youth volunteers.
A total of 155 MY Bharat volunteers participated in the programme. The volunteers underwent health check-ups and basic health screening, followed by awareness sessions focusing on the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle and the ill-effects of addiction on physical and mental health. The programme provided the participating youth with an opportunity to understand the importance of preventive healthcare and making informed, healthy lifestyle choices.
The programme was coordinated from MY Bharat Chandigarh under the guidance of Sh. Shivdhan Sharma, Director, MY Bharat UT Chandigarh. Sh. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, and Sh. Hari Prakash, Accounts & Program Supervisor, were actively involved in the coordination and conduct of the programme.
From GMSH-16, overall coordination and support was provided by Dr. Paramjit Singh, Deputy Medical Superintendent, along with Dr. Vijay Giridhar, Nodal Officer, and Dr. Gaurav.
The initiative reflects the collaborative efforts of MY Bharat and the health department towards strengthening preventive healthcare awareness among young people and encouraging youth to adopt healthy, substance-free and responsible lifestyles. The 100 Sundays Campaign envisages sustained youth-centric activities promoting health, well-being, positive peer engagement and constructive use of leisure time.
