Addressing a press conference in Hisar on Tuesday, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that when Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the Chief Minister, and Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala was the Power Minister, the availability of power supply in the state was in dire condition. Long power cuts used to haunt the people and the electricity was made available for 4 hours only. Taking a jibe at Congress leader, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Sh. Randeep Singh Surjewala, the Chief Minister said that both the leaders seem to be in a competition to become the leader of the opposition. They are only marking their attendance; they have no connection with the public, he added.

Sharing the data, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that during the Congress regime in 2013–14, the electricity bill for consuming up to 25 units was Rs. 200. In 2013–14, electricity companies were heavily indebted, but the present state government has reduced that debt, and it is expected to be brought down to zero by 2027.

The Chief Minister shared that under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, rooftop solar panels of up to 2 kilowatts are being installed. So far, solar panels have been installed on 15,000 homes. He encouraged all eligible households to adopt solar energy, which would reduce their electricity bills to zero.

Opposition unable to digest development being carried out by the present state government

Responding to statements by MP Sh. Jai Prakash regarding the aerodrome, the Chief Minister said that the MP should look up the definitions of ‘aerodrome’ and ‘airport’ on Google. Hisar is witnessing the development of a major infrastructure project, which is a matter of pride for the entire state. But the opposition appears to be frustrated by this progress, he said.

The Chief Minister also emphasized that the MP, being a responsible person, should join in welcoming the Prime Minister at the airport rather than making such illogical statements.

He said that currently, two weekly flights from Hisar to Ayodhya have been scheduled. As demand increases, more routes will be added. In fact, bookings for the inaugural flight were completed within just two hours of opening the portal, he said.

Haryana Right to Service Commission orders compensation of Rs.5,000 to complainant

Chandigarh, April 8- In a significant decision, the Haryana Right to Service Commission has ordered the Electricity Department to pay Rs.5,000 as compensation to a complainant due to shortcomings of the electricity department. The commission found that Om Prakash, a resident of Bhiwani, was deprived of the facility of increasing the load of agricultural electricity connection under the Voluntary Disclosure Scheme due to the negligence of the electricity department.

Sharing information in this regard a spokesperson of the department said that Om Prakash had applied for load enhancement on July 13, 2024. Even though Ved Prakash paid the penalty on September 26, 2024, the amount continued to be shown under Om Prakash’s name.

The Commission has directed that Om Prakash should submit his bank details to the concerned officers by April 25, 2025, to receive the compensation. The Commission has directed the Electricity Department to conduct an internal inquiry and recover the compensation amount from the responsible officers if found guilty. Besides this, compliance reports and proof of action must be submitted to the Commission within the given stipulated time frame.
