Chandigarh, July 30: The people of Punjab should work hard to make it prosperous. This would play a pivotal role in making India a Vishwa Guru. While delivering a valedictory speech here today at Punjab Raj Bhavan the Punjab Governor & Administrator UT, Chandigarh Banwari Lal Purohit added to this by saying that the people of Punjab should collectively come forward in the fight against drugs. He said that the need of the hour is to eradicate the sin of drugs from the state to save the coming generations.

The Governor further said that the people of Punjab are very large-hearted and they will strongly overcome the problem of drugs. ‘Punjab is a land of opportunities and there is a lot of scope for betterment in various sectors’, added the Governor.

The Governor also said that recently during the meeting of the NITI Aayog, he raised the various development projects for the UT especially to allot one medical college and outer ring road.

He thanked Punjab Government & UT Administration Chandigarh for their support and comfortable stay for three years as Punjab Governor & Administrator UT, Chandigarh. He said that memories of Punjab will always be cherished, especially the profound memories of Punjabi culture and teaching of Sikh Gurus.
