CHANDIGARH, 09.04.25-Peer Muchalla (District Mohali), April 9, On the auspicious occasion of Vishva Mahamantra Navkar Diwas, the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, participated in a spiritually enriching event held at Peer Muchalla, Zirakpur. He offered his heartfelt reverence at the feet of revered Jain Mahasadhvi Shri Sunidhi Ji, Mahasadhvi Shri Sajag Ji, and Mahasadhvi Shri Samahi Ji Maharaj – and paid homage to the divine essence of the Navkar Mantra.
In his inspirational address, the Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh Sh Gulab Chand Kataria emphasized the deep relevance of Lord Mahavir’s eternal principles—Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truth), Aparigraha (non-possessiveness), Achaurya (non-stealing), and Brahmacharya (celibacy)—in modern life. He said that Jainism is not merely a spiritual path but a comprehensive philosophy guiding righteous conduct and balanced living.
Sh. Kataria noted that as the world increasingly embraces vegetarianism and ethical living, it stands as a testament to the global acceptance of Lord Mahavir’s message. He also underlined the benefits of giving up dinner (Ratribhoj Tyag) for one’s physical health and spiritual well-being and urged people across all sections of society to celebrate Mahavir Jayanti on a grand scale.
Stressing the importance of instilling religious values, culture, and ethics among children from a young age, the Punjab Governor and Administrator Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria said this is essential to nurturing responsible and value-driven citizens. He further praised the Jain community for its exemplary contributions to India’s economy and society, stating that although numerically small, their impact is both powerful and commendable.
Sadhvi Shri Sunidhi Ji Maharaj delivered a thought-provoking discourse on the divinity and transformative power of the Navkar Mantra. She also lauded the Governor’s leadership in promoting de-addiction campaigns and women empowerment, offering her blessings for continued success in these initiatives.
The Governor was accompanied by Smt. Anita Kataria and Ms. Avni during the visit.
Prominent community members including Sh Pawan Kumar Jain, Sh. Naresh Jain, Sh. Satish Jain, Sh. K.V. Jain, Sh. Ashok Jain, Sh. Jaipal Jain, Sh. Satish Jain (Mansa), and Sh.
