He said that Congress will be completely finished. He further asserted that Congress lacks a clear policy, direction, and leadership, and has resorted to lies and deception to secure votes. Referring to the Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister recalled that Congress leaders started saying that if Narendra Modi were to become Prime Minister for a third term, the Constitution would be at risk. *Haryana Right to Service Commission orders UHBVN to compensate consumer with Rs. 5,000*
Chandigarh, Dec 19, 2024 – The Haryana Right to Service Commission has directed the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) in Kaithal to compensate consumer Vinod Kumar with a sum of Rs. 5,000 for the unnecessary inconvenience caused due to the non-updation of the extension of load (EOL) in his electricity connection.
Sharing the details a spokesperson of the Commission, the complainant, Vinod Kumar, had applied for an extension of load from 18 KW to 40 KW, which was subsequently approved. Regular readings were generated until June 2023. However, from July to August 2023, the consumer began receiving average bills instead of actual readings. Despite the complainant paying Rs. 5,923 on August 21, 2023, no further payments were made until January 2024. Average billing continued for the months of September to December 2023 due to the delay in updating the EOL by the SDO office. The EOL was eventually updated in the CCB portal on December 22, 2023.
On January 15, 2024, the SVR was completed, and the correct bill, with the accurate multiplication factor (MF) of 20, was generated on January 23, 2024. The complainant paid Rs. 65,441 for the average bills raised. However, an overhaul of the account was done, resulting in an additional charge of Rs. 10,453 on April 30, 2024. Further discrepancies arose due to incorrect readings recorded by the meter reader in May and June 2024, leading to inflated consumption reflected in the bills. A surcharge of Rs. 1,850 for these two months was registered in the CCB portal on November 22, 2024.
In response to the consumer's complaint regarding the non-updation of the load extension and incorrect meter readings, the Commission thoroughly reviewed the case. After hearing from the concerned authorities, it directed UHBVN to compensate Vinod Kumar with Rs. 5,000. The UHBVN either recovers this amount from the defaulting officials or the billing agency as deemed fit after conducting an inquiry. The XEN of UHBVN has been directed to submit a compliance report to the Commission by January 10, 2025.
