*“The issue of verification of construction workers is serious, hence we have formed an investigation committee”- Labour Minister Anil Vij*
Chandigarh, April 22 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij responding to the discontent of a Haryana Congress MLAs and said that the Congress Party has lost its ability to make decisions. He said that if we look at the situation across India, Congress is failing to make decisions anywhere.
Speaking with media persons today, Sh. Vij said that if the Congress Party had the ability to take decisions, it would have appointed a Leader of the Opposition in the past seven months. However, they are unable to make any decisions, which is why even this budget session was conducted without a Leader of the Opposition. This could be the reason why all MLAs are upset, but if we look at the situation across India, Congress is failing to make decisions anywhere.
*“Those opposing the Waqf Act are the ones who don’t believe in the Constitution, the Parliament or the judiciary” – Vij*
Reacting to a large protest at Delhi's Talkatora Stadium against the Waqf Act, Cabinet Minister Anil Vij said that the people protesting are those who neither believe in the Constitution, the Parliament nor the courts. He said that since the case is already in court, they should await the court’s decision. He emphasized that Parliament has the authority to make laws, and the Waqf Act was enacted through proper procedures, where everyone had the opportunity to speak. Those opposing it spoke as much as they could in Parliament. Vij added that in a democracy, political authority lies with the majority.
*“Congress leader Rahul Gandhi does not consider this land his own, does not see himself as a son of Bharat Mata, and considers himself a foreigner” – Vij*
Responding sharply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the U.S. questioning India’s electoral process, Minister Vij said that the issue is not what Rahul says—because they are well aware of his knowledge—but rather that he criticizes the country and its institutions while abroad, which is a serious matter. Such statements could have been made in India as well.
Sh. Vij said that Rahul Gandhi could have raised these points in the Indian Parliament, where he would have received answers. But he does not consider this land his own, does not see himself as a son of Bharat Mata, and sees himself as a foreigner. That is why he speaks abroad instead of on Indian soil, and no Indian will tolerate this.
*“The issue of verification of construction workers is serious, hence we have formed an investigation committee” – Vij*
Regarding irregularities in the verification of construction workers at a meeting of the Construction Workers Welfare Board, Labour Minister Anil Vij said that it came to light that one individual verified one lakh (100,000) workers, while another verified 90,000—an unbelievable and concerning matter. He said that the issue is serious, and therefore a committee has been formed, which includes one representative each from the government, the workers, and the employers.
