CHANDIGARH,07.09.24-AAP leader Prem Garg expressed deep sorrow over the death of a three-year-old girl who fell into a manhole due to the rains in Panchkula’s Sector 12A. The girl’s body is currently kept in Sector 6 hospital. He stated that this incident is a result of gross negligence by the municipal corporation and responsibility must be fixed, with the officials at fault being held accountable. He further emphasized that steps must be taken to ensure such tragic accidents do not happen in the future. Despite the municipal corporation spending crores every year claiming to clean the stormwater drains, Panchkula continues to face severe waterlogging and flooding-like situations during the rainy season. There should be a comprehensive, long-term solution to these problems. Prem Garg also demanded appropriate compensation for the girl’s family. He extended his condolences to the grieving family and prayed for peace for the departed soul.
