CHANDIGARH,16.09.24-The PGI Engineers Association, Chandigarh, successfully organized its 3rd Blood Donation Camp at Zakir Hall, PGIMER today, to commemorate Engineer's Day (15th September).
Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the camp. Key dignitaries present at the event included Sh. Pankaj Rai, DDA, Prof. Vipin Kaushal, MS, Lt. Col. G. S. Bhatti, Senior Hospital Engineer, and Prof. (Dr.) Ratti Ram Sharma, Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, who collectively blessed and encouraged the blood donors.
In his address, Prof. Vivek Lal remarked, "The dedication of our blood donors, especially those who have crossed the remarkable milestone of 100 donations, is truly inspiring. My heartfelt appreciation goes to Gurpartap Singh, who has donated blood 159 times, and Ujagar Singh, with 101 donations. Their selflessness exemplifies the true spirit of service and compassion."
Approximately 250 voluntary donors donated blood in the camp, although some were disqualified during the medical examination. Er. Bindia Verma, President of the PGI Engineers Association, expressed profound gratitude to Prof. Vivek Lal for his presence and support, as well as to all the blood donors. She also extended sincere thanks to Prof. (Dr.) Ratti Ram Sharma and his team from the Department of Transfusion Medicine for their cooperation in the successful execution of the camp.
Er. P. S. Gill, General Secretary of the PGI Engineers Association, thanked all the distinguished guests and participants for sparing their valuable time.
