*Rao Narbir Singh applauds World Bank for efforts in reducing air pollution in National Capital Region*
Chandigarh, November 30 – Haryana Environment, Forests and Wildlife Minister, Rao Narbir Singh expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for its proactive initiative in combating air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR). He said that the World Bank will support projects worth approximately Rs 3,650 crore aimed at reducing air pollution in Haryana. Under this partnership, the World Bank will contribute 70 percent of the project funding, while the Haryana state government will contribute the remaining 30 percent. In addition, it will also include a grant-in-aid of more than Rs 80 crore from the World Bank.
Rao Narbir Singh said that environmental pollution has become a global issue today, making it crucial to monitor and control the air quality index in the future. He emphasized the need for proactive measures, stating that Haryana, in collaboration with the World Bank, is committed to making the state free from air pollution by 2030.
"We must start working on this now," said Singh, pointing out that transitioning to electric vehicles in the National Capital Region (NCR) is a crucial step. He also shared plans to purchase an additional 250-300 electric buses, promoting the use of public transport. Metro services, electric buses, and rapid rail systems will also be expanded to reduce the environmental impact of conventional transport.
Rao Narbir Singh further said that the World Bank has expressed concern over the smog that frequently affects Delhi in the winter months, adding that the Haryana government is focusing on measures to tackle the issue. Apart from Faridabad and Gurugram, the Chief Minister has included Sonipat in the list of cities to be made air-pollution free.
*Green Wall to be created on the lines of Saudi Arabia in Aravalli mountain range*
The Environment Minister stated that while Saudi Arabia is a desert country, its people have transformed the sandy land into a green landscape and established a green wall. He highlighted that Saudi Arabia has made significant progress and is now self-sufficient in food grain production. He also mentioned that he would soon visit Saudi Arabia to observe the green wall there and explore the possibility of establishing a similar green wall in the Aravalli region of the state, which would help maintain the environmental balance.
He further added that students are being educated about the environment in universities and research in this area is being encouraged. He said that everyone, including individuals and institutions, should contribute to environmental protection.

He also announced a grant of Rs. 21 lakh from the discretionary quota for the Kumhar Hostel. He assured the attendees that they could submit proposals for any necessary requirements of the hostel. He further stated that there would be no need to travel to Chandigarh; instead, they should prepare a report and send it directly to him, and he would personally take further action.
The minister urged the people to not only educate their children but also instill moral values in them, so that a civilized society can be built. He said that the current government is committed to giving self-respect to the underprivileged sections of society. He also mentioned that work is underway on the Sankalp Patra. He further stated that the government aims to provide jobs to 2 lakh youth on transparent and merit basis. He highlighted that the government has already fulfilled its promise by providing jobs to 25,000 youth. *Industry and Commerce Minister organizes a Samadhan Shivir*
*Instructed officials to address people’s concerns promptly and ensure timely resolutions*
Chandigarh, November 30 – Haryana Industry and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that residential societies which have deposited 80 percent of their property tax with the corporation will be allocated Rs 10 lakh to use for development works at their level. He urged residents of these societies to pay their property tax so that the corporation can further accelerate development efforts in their areas.
The Minister made these remarks while addressing the Samadhan Shivir held at Shobha City in Sector 108, Dwarka Expressway, Gurugram, on Saturday. He assured the residents that going forward, their suggestions would be given top priority for any development work in their area. During the event, he also conducted a public hearing for 20 major issues concerning 32 societies in the city and provided necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
He stated that Badshahpur Assembly is the largest assembly in Haryana. Given this, it is not feasible for him to visit every society, but addressing the people’s concerns will always remain his priority. He explained that considering the number of societies in the area, he has decided to organize Samadhan shivirs, similar to today’s event, at a designated location where all the societies in the surrounding area will be invited. At these shivirs, senior officers from the district administration, municipal bodies, and relevant authorities will be present to address and resolve the issues on the spot. For issues that cannot be resolved immediately, the officials will provide a timeline for their resolution. The Minister added that Haryana now has a common man’s government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, which is continuously working to solve the people’s problems with a focus on Antyodaya.
Regarding the issue of property IDs, Rao Narbir Singh stated that the government has acknowledged the concern and simplified the process for obtaining a property ID. Now, any individual can create their property ID using self-certified documents of their property. He urged all eligible individuals to obtain their property ID and pay their property tax. He said that making Gurugram free of corruption is his top priority. The Minister also shared his efforts to establish a single-window system to address the issues faced by the common people of Gurugram. During the event, he encouraged the attendees to help make Gurugram polythene-free. He pointed out that as a major district of NCR, any meaningful initiative taken in Gurugram would likely inspire other districts to follow suit.
He said that the people of Gurugram should not have to travel to Chandigarh to resolve their issues. The grievances of Gurugram's residents will be addressed right here in Gurugram. For this purpose, they can meet him at his office in Gurugram. This approach will save time, money, and fuel, which will also have a positive impact on the environment. During the event, the Industry Minister listened to the grievances of residents from all the societies present. He also issued the necessary instructions to the officers of the concerned departments to address these issues.

Chandigarh, November 30- The colourful wooden flowers made from the wood and palm tree bark have captured the attention of tourists at the International Gita Mahotsav, leaving behind roses, marigold, jasmine and other traditional flowers. These long-lasting flowers made from wood and tree bark were a centre of attention at the Brahma Sarovar at only Rs.20 to Rs.200.
Pawan Kumar, a craftsman from Madhya Pradesh who has been bringing paper flowers to the Mahotsav for several years, shared his thoughts at stall number 359, along with his wife Rajkumari, and children Mohit, Rohit, and Muskaan. He expressed that the colourful wooden flowers are playing a significant role in brightening up the atmosphere at Brahma Sarovar. The prices of these colourful flower bouquets are kept affordable, ranging from just Rs.10 to Rs. 200 only. The demand for these wooden flowers has been increasing every day at the Mahotsav.
He further mentioned that the government’s loan schemes have played a key role in reaching their flowers to special guests and helping them grow economically.
He also expressed gratitude to the government for its support in strengthening their business, while the tourists' purchase of these flowers has helped validate these government initiatives. This year, they have brought over a dozen varieties of colourful flowers, with palm bark flowers being the most appreciated.
