Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar participates as Chief Guest at Panjab University, Chandigarh
Chandigarh, December 3 – Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister and President, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar congratulates Haryana’s Women’s Kabaddi Team who clinched the gold medal, and the Men’s Team who secured the silver medal at the 17th Circle Kabaddi Championship held at Panjab University, Chandigarh. He lauded the women's team for their exceptional performance, defeating Punjab by 38-26 in the finals. The men's team also put up a commendable fight against Punjab but narrowly missed the gold, losing 48-40.
Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar participated as a Chief Guest in the 17th Circle Kabaddi National Men and Women Competition held at Panjab University, Chandigarh from November 30 to December 2, 2024. He extended his congratulations to the President, Haryana Amateur Kabaddi Association, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Dalal, General Secretary, Sh. Naseeb Janghu, the coaches, and all officers involved.
Addressing the gathering, Sh. Panwar praised the efforts of Haryana’s women athletes, stating that their gold medal victory not only strengthens the state’s rich sporting culture but also highlights the growing participation of women in sports. The gold by the women’s team and the silver by the men’s team are a matter of pride for the entire state, added the Minister.
On this occasion, the General Secretary, Sh.Naseeb Janghu also congratulated the players and coaching staff, stating that this success will help take Haryana's sporting tradition to new heights. This victory is a result of the hard work and dedication of the players, coaches, and the federation. Chandigarh, December 3 – The International Gita Mahotsav held in Kurukshetra is a platform for craftsmen to showcase handicrafts and folk arts of their region. The sacred land “Gita Sthali” has become a place of presenting the folk art and rich culture from almost every state in India. Lakhs of devotees and tourists visit Kurukshetra to experience this rich cultural heritage annually.
The sacred Brahma Sarovar and its surroundings offer a glimpse of India’s diverse traditions and craftsmanship, transforming the area into a "Mini India." The artistry of craftsmen has become a major highlight of the Gita Mahotsav, drawing increasing numbers of visitors. Tourists are treated to captivating folk dances performances from various states like Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Ladakh, and West Bengal along the ghats of Brahma Sarovar.
During the International Gita Mahotsav, there were several delicious cuisines from different states including Rajasthan's kachoris to Punjab's lassi, Bihar's litti chokha to Kashmir's kahwa, the diverse flavors of India tantalize the taste buds of visitors.

*Gram panchayats to take part in Deepotsav at Gita Mahotsav on Dec 11*
Chandigarh, December 3- Gita Mahotsav will be celebrated at 48 Kos pilgrimages on the land of the Mahabharata. Gita Vani will be heard at all 182 pilgrimages of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Kaithal, Panipat and Jind districts. A Swachhata Abhiyan will be conducted at the pilgrimages along with Gita Paath. Along with this, cultural programmes, Gita Paath and Gita Yagna will be organized at the pilgrimages of 48 Kos.
\The purpose of organizing Gita Mahotsav at the pilgrimages is to connect the youth with the universality of the Gita. Along with this, Gita Paath will be organized for elders and women. There will also be original presentations of Haryanvi culture through Haryanvi songs and the theme of these songs will be on topics related to the life of Lord Krishna.
A Deepotsav will also be organized on December 11 at all the pilgrimage places of 48 Kos. Gram Panchayats will participate in Deepotsav and people’s representatives will be the guests on the occasion. Invitations are being sent to representatives of Block Samitis, District Councils and other bodies to take part in these events.

Returning Officer Sh Ashok Kumar Meena has notified the schedule for the by-election to one Rajya Sabha seat from Haryana
Chandigarh, December 3: Returning Officer Sh Ashok Kumar Meena has notified the schedule for the by-election to one Rajya Sabha seat from Haryana.
One member of Rajya Sabha is to be elected by the elected members of Haryana Legislative Assembly.
Nomination papers may be submitted to the Returning Officer or to Sh Gaurav Goyal, Deputy Secretary (Assistant Returning Officer), by the candidate or any of their proposers at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. Submissions will be accepted from December 10, 2024, on all working days (excluding holidays) between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
The nomination papers will be scrutinized by the office of the Returning Officer at 10:00 am on December 11. Nominations may be withdrawn until 3:00 pm on December 13. If the election is held, voting will take place on December 20 at the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

*Every officer must go in field, listen to grievances of people: Shruti Choudhry*
*Minister holds review meeting with officials of Women and Child Development Department*
Chandigarh, December 3 - Haryana's Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry has said that every officer of the department should go in the field and listen to the problems of people. She has also asked the officers to prepare a duty chart which should have complete information about the work being assigned to every officer. She said if the officer who has been assigned duty does not go in the field, strict action will be taken against him. She herself will also go in the field to see the implementation of schemes at the ground level.
Smt. Shruti Choudhry stated this during a review meeting with officials of Women and Child Development Department here today.
She obtained information about the quality and distribution of food given to women and children under the PM Poshan Yojana and the distribution of fortified flour, rice, panjiri and milk to women and children. She said development of a child's brain is the highest from birth to next two years. Therefore, they should be given a good diet.
The minister instructed officials to ensure that nutritious food reaches Anganwadi centres on time. She also discussed with the officials about making Mahila Chaupal and building new Anganwadi centers, as promised in the party's manifesto. Along with this, necessary instructions were given to the officials regarding the standards of development of children up to six years in the state.
While giving instructions, Smt. Shruti Choudhary said the information of all the schemes being run by the government for women should be made available to the people so that every eligible person can take advantage of it. During the meeting, the officials informed the minister that a toll free number has been launched by the department on which people can give any information about feticide or fetal sex determination, for which they will be given a reward of Rs 1 lakh.
Additional Chief Secretary of Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Director of the Department Smt. Monica Malik and senior officials were present in the meeting.
