Nawanshehar, April 7:Ushering a new era of education revolution in state, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday gave a major push to education sector by pumping in Rs 2000 crore for ‘Sikhiya Kranti’ in the state.

Addressing the gathering after dedicating a new block in state of the art School of Eminence here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government is making concerted efforts for rejuvenating the health and education system in the state. He said that till now sending his child to government school was the compulsion of the common man but now it is their wish to do so as the education system has been revamped. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Schools of Eminence have been set up across the state to impart quality education to the students.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is committed for well being of every section of society especially the youth for which no stone will be left unturned. He said that the state government is making every endeavor to groom the students well for various competitions adding that now the students are excelling in the field of education. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the focus is to ensure holistic development of the state and prosperity of its people.

The Chief Minister said that the previous governments never paid heed towards imparting quality education to the students. He said that the sons and daughters of big leaders used to study in convent schools at hills due to which yeh government schools were never their focus. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that instead of education the government schools were merely mid day meal centres during the previous regimes.

The Chief Minister said that those who had deprived students from quality education and those who have perpetuated sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib are being punished for their sins. He said that they have been already ousted by the people from power and now they are already in political oblivion. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Punabis will never forgive these culprits for their sins and they will be taught a befitting lesson.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has been sending the teachers abroad and even to prestigious national institutes to upscale their teaching skills. He said that the well trained staff has helped in enhancing the rate of admissions in the government schools of the state adding that Punjab is witnessing education revolution across the nation as the state government has laid major thrust on it. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the teachers and Principals are focusing only on education as for all the rest of work, the required staff has been recruited by the state government.

The Chief Minister said that it is a moment of immense pride and satisfaction that more than 54000 jobs have been provided to the youth of the state. He that all the jobs have been given completely on the basis of merit, san any corruption or nepotism. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is making the youth an active partner in socio economic development of Punjab.

The Chief Minister said that state government has launched ‘Yudh Nasheyan Virudh’ against the menace of drugs adding that unbounded energy of youth is being channelized in positive direction. He said that it is imperative to save the generations of the state from scourge of drugs as Punjab has already suffered a huge loss of manpower due to this menace. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has launched this campaign with active support of the common man so that the scourge of drugs can be wiped out from state.

The Chief Minister said that the state government will not sit idly and watch the smugglers bloom at the cost of the dead bodies and pyres of the drug victims. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has already snapped the supply line of drugs and big fishes involved in this heinous crime have been put behind the bars. He said that for the first time the property of the drug smugglers acquired illegally are being destroyed/ confiscated by the state government so that it acts as a deterrent for others.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is implementing School mentorship program in the state thereby ensuring that the IAS/IPS officers adopt rural schools across the state and mentor the students for excelling in life. He said that this Pilot project will be introduced in 80 schools of eminence of the state and every officer will be allotted the school for a period of five years irrespective of their place of positing. Bhagwant Singh Mann sad that this move will further strengthen the atmosphere of education through conversation with students and teachers along with it the officers will prepare the students for competitive exams and ensure training to teachers for upgrading their skills.

The Chief Minister said that these officers will act a catalyst for mustering resources and resource person for development of these schools. He said that these officers will work as mentors and not as bosses and this work will be voluntary service and interested officers will have to perform it along with their already allocated duties. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this step will further revolutionize education sector in the state.

The Chief Minister said that it gives him immense pride and satisfaction that exceptionally bright students are studying in these schools. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Punjab government has given a major boost to the education sector by allocating 11% of the total Budget expenditure to it, amounting to Rs.18,047 crore in the budget adding that this will help in carving out a new, prosperous and progressive Punjab. He said that his government has laid due focus on the development of the education sector to impart quality education to the students.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is organizing Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM) in the government schools across the state. He said that lakhs of parents across the state are enquiring about the studies, atmosphere, curriculum and other things being offered to their kids. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it will also provide an opportunity to teachers for explaining the performance of students in the schools.

Meanwhile, in his address former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the state government is working tirelessly for giving wings to dream of students. He said that complete transformation of the education system is going on across the state. Manish Sisodia said that we promising that we don’t indulge in politics of dividing people on sectarian lines but we are empowering people through quality education.

The former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister said that in last three years more than 12000 schools of the state have undergone complete transformation. He said that contrary to three years ago now the 29 lakh students across the state are getting state of the art facilities. Manish Sisodia said that these schools have best and talented teachers.

The former Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government has embarked a two fold strategy to check the menace of drugs. He said that on one hand major crackdown has been launched against the drug smugglers to snap the supply line and on other hand quality education is being imparted to youngsters so that demand of drugs is not there. Manish Sisodia said that with these efforts Punjab will soon emerge as a drug free state.

The former Delhi Chief Minister said that contrary to this newly formed government in Delhi has deprived the poor families from quality education. He said that the fees in private schools in Delhi have been doubled to loot the common man especially from weaker sections. Manish Sisodia said that Punjab has emerged as a savior of poor and weaker sections of the state.

Parents hail CM for heralding new era of education in state

Nawanshehar, April 7:The parents of the students of the Schools of Eminence on Monday hailed the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for heralding a new era of Sikhiya Kranti in the state.

During the interaction with the Chief Minister and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia here today, Paramjit Kumar from village Begumpura said that in contrary to past, the schools are now equipped with state of the art infrastructure and facilities. He said that the facilities being provided to the students at par with the private schools. He further said that the tours and exposures provided by the schools to students is widening the horizon of students.

Bhupinder Kaur from Plan road said that her two daughters and one niece is studying in this school. She said that the schools are enabling the students to excel in their life by imparting them quality education. She said that the credit goes to the Chief Minister led state government for transformation of the destiny of students.

Parveen Bala from village Durgaopur also lauded the Chief Minister for state of the art infrastructure and facilities in the government schools. She said that her son was studying in a private school but now he is studying here and getting quality education as per his convent educated peers. She said that the state of the art infrastructure coupled with quality education is giving major boost to education sector.

Chandigarh/Kotkapura, April 7:Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan today inaugurated development projects worth lakhs of rupees in various schools in his constituency at Kotkapura under the "Punjab Education Revolution" program. In this regard, development projects under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister of Punjab S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has also been inaugurated in various schools across the state.

On this occasion, Speaker S. Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have the view that in order to make all around development of the country, we should first make the better future of our children. To achieve this dream, the infrastructure of schools has been immensely improved to shape the future of children. He said that it is a matter of great pride that 189 students of Government schools have passed the JEE examination. The construction work of boundary walls of Government schools has been completed upto 98 percent and 1177 watchmen have been recruited for the security of schools. Besides this, 1809 campus managers have been recruited, 6200 new rooms have been constructed, and 4700 classrooms have been renovated so far.

S. Sandhwan said that 9000 children from private schools have taken admission in Government schools due to the improved infrastructure of government schools in Punjab. He added that students of Government schools in Punjab have also visited ISRO to see Chandrayaan, which is a matter of great pride. He said that the board result of government schools is 92 percent at present, which will soon be increased to 100 percent. He said that government school teachers have been sent to Singapore and Finland for getting training. Punjab Government has regularised the services of 12316 teachers and has recruited 10487 new teachers. Moreover, he added that 1239 non-teaching staff have also been recruited in schools. Major part of the state budget would be spent on the education sector, he said.

He inaugurated the development project of Dr. Hari Singh Sewak School of Eminence where about Rs 60 lakhs was spent. He also inaugurated new rooms and a ramp of Government Primary School Hira Singh Nagar. He also inaugurated a boundary wall of Government Primary School Kotkapura (Boys) and a washroom for girl students of Government Primary School Prem Nagar Kotkapura.

On this occasion, teachers and students were specially honored who have achieved laurels in various fields. Speaker also announced that he will provide a grant from his discretionary quota for the government school.

Folk singers Harinder Sandhu and Rana Kameana mesmerize the audience with cultural and family songs on this occasion. A cultural program was also presented by the school students. The Speaker gave prize money worth Rs. 11,000 each to the children who presented the cultural program.

Punjab Government initiates Education Revolution in the state - Dhaliwal

Chandigarh/ Ajnala April 7:The Punjab government has strengthened the infrastructure of schools by focusing heavily on the education sector during the last three years and this will be improved further in the coming two years. The above views were expressed by Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on the occasion of inaugurating the rooms and the boundary wall of Government Primary School Sakkiwala and Government Girls Senior Secondary School Ajnala. He said that the above schools were given special grants of Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh respectively in the past, with which they have constructed as per their requirements.

He said that special focus of our government is towards Education and Health. Under the leadership of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Education Minister Manish Sisodia, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched an Education Revolution in the state, which will change the image of schools and the fate of the students studying in the Government Schools of Punjab. He said that more work will be done to raise the standards of schools in the next two years, the results of which will continue to be felt by future generations for centuries.

Chandigarh/SAS Nagar, April 7:Fostering a vibrant and enriching learning experience for the students, Punjab School Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains on Monday inaugurated newly developed infrastructure projects worth over Rs. 2.34 crore across three government senior secondary schools of SAS Nagar (Mohali) district, while announcing a major facelift accomplished in 89 schools across the district as part of the "Sikhya Kranti" initiative.

Unveiling the several infrastructure projects on the first day of the "Sikhya Kranti”, S. Harjot Singh Bains inaugurated Block A & C renovated at a cost of Rs 1.70 crore and a state-of-the-art mini science centre at Swargwasi Gurnam Singh Saini Senior Secondary School, Derabassi. The science centre, equipped with modern learning tools, was established at a cost of Rs 10 lakh and aims to spark a passion for STEM education. Additionally, a newly constructed toilet block for girls, costing Rs 5.65 lakh, was also inaugurated.

At the School of Eminence, Phase-11, SAS Nagar, the Education Minister inaugurated a new boundary wall constructed at a cost of Rs 13.99 lakh. He also announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of a playground at the school.

At the Shaheed Lieutenant Bikram Singh Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Sialba near Majri, the Education Minister inaugurated a new boundary wall constructed with Rs 5.75 lakh and three new classrooms built at a cost of Rs. 26.66 lakh. These additions aim to expand the school's capacity and provide students with a modern learning environment. Existing classrooms were also renovated at a cost of Rs 2 lakhs to create a more conducive learning space. The Education Minister further announced that a new lab is being constructed with Rs 33 lakh at the school.

The Education Minister also announced that infrastructure projects worth Rs. 42.36 lakh have been dedicated today in the district's Government Primary Schools located in Bishangarh, Bishanpura Khera, Majri, Phase-VII and Phase-Two of Mohali.

He further stated that 89 schools in the SAS Nagar district have also received a facelift under the "Sikhya Kranti" initiative of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government. This reflects the state government's unwavering commitment to foster a conducive and enriching learning experience for students, besides pulling all the stops to realise the dreams of every child in the state.

MLA from Derabassi Mr. Kuljit Singh Randhawa, MLA from Mohali Mr. Kulwant Singh and other senior officials of Mohali district were also present during the events.

Meanwhile, the Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains today also inaugurated infrastructure projects worth over 1.23 crore in four government schools of Ropar district as a part of Punjab Sikhya Kranti.

He dedicated modern physics, chemistry and biology laboratories, a playground, track and classrooms along with boundary wall constructed with a total cost of Rs 60.6 lac at Government Senior Secondary School, Lutheri.

The Education Minister also inaugurated boundary wall built with Rs 10 lakh at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Nangal Sarsa and 100-meter long boundary wall of Government Primary School, Nangal Sarsa at a cost of Rs 5 lakh.

Education Minister, along with the MLA from Rupnagar Advocate Dinesh Kumar Chadha, inaugurated the development works at the Government Senior Secondary Smart School in village Chanoli Bassi of Block Nurpur Bedi at a cost of Rs 37 lakh, where an integrated science lab has been constructed with a cost of Rs 11 lakh, toilets block for boys worth Rs1.18 lakh, a 300-meter boundary wall of the school has been constructed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh and the hall room has been renovated and a shed for a cycle stand has been built with a cost of Rs 10 lakh. At the Government Primary School Chanoli Bassi, new classrooms have also been constructed at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakh and boundary wall with Rs 1.60 lakh.
