PEOPLE EXHIBIT MASSIVE RESPONSE IN E-AUCTION OF VARIOUS PROPERTIES

Chandigarh, September 17:Owing to the pro-people and development oriented policies of the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority (PUDA) and other Regional Development Authorities have collectively earned a whopping Rs. 2945 crore from the e-auction of various properties concluded Monday (September 16).

Divulging the details, the Chief Minister said that the e-auctions which began on September 6, featured properties to the nature of group housing, multiplex, commercial chunks, residential plots, SCOs, booths, shops, SCFs and others. Hailing this huge success, he said that the Development Authorities operating under the Department of Housing and Urban Development had extended an opportunity to the people from all walks of the society to own their dream properties. Bhagwant Singh Mann further said that auction of these properties got a massive response by the general public especially by those who either wanted to own a residential plot or had plans to start a commercial establishment.

The Chief Minister further said that the result of the e-auctions had put a stamp on the investor friendly policies of the state government. He further said that every single penny received from the e-auctions shall be spent for carrying out development projects to provide state of the art amenities to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann commended the efforts of all the officials involved in conducting the e-auctions adding that each and every one of them performed duty professionally and with responsibility to ensure that the whole auction process ran in a smooth and transparent manner.

The Chief Minister said that PUDA received bids for 162 OUVGL properties, GMADA successfully auctioned two commercial chunks of Sector 62, one chunk each situated in Eco City-1 and Aerocity, three group housing sites located in Sector 66, Ecocity-2 and Medicity respectively, besides 16 SCOs and 12 booths situated in different sectors of SAS Nagar. Likewise, he said that GLADA auctioned 32 properties, BDA was able to auction 23 properties, ADA and JDA found bidders for 34 and 22 properties respectively and PDA auctioned 17 properties. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the successful bidders would be allotted the sites on depositing the 10% payment and possession would be handed over to them on payment of 25% of the total bid amount.

CM congratulates Indian Hockey team for lifting Asian Champions Trophy

Asserts it is the ‘Golden era of Indian Hockey’

Chandigarh, September 17:Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday congratulated the Indian Hockey squad for lifting the Asian Champions Trophy by defeating China on their home turf.

The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Indian Hockey Team has defeated China by 1-0 in the finals of the tournament. He said that it is a proud moment for the entire country as India has lifted this trophy for fifth time. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that all the players of the Indian contingent deserve applaud as they have exhibited great sportsmanship during the team.

The Chief Minister said that it is heartening to learn that the Indian squad has seven players from Punjab.He said that most importantly player of tournament and Captain of Indian team is Harmanpreet Singh also hails from state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the golden era of Indian hockey and all of us are fortunate to be part of this historic moment.

The Chief Minister said that this victory will go down in golden words in the annals of sports history. He said that this victory has proved that game of hockey is on path of revival in the country. Showering heaps of praise on the team, Bhagwant Singh Mann said the team has upheld the glorious legacy of the great Hockey players produced from the country.

Chandigarh, September 17:The Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has achieved a major milestone by signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 20 industries and industry associations, paving the way for 50,000 job opportunities in the state.

This breakthrough was announced by Mr. Aman Arora, the Minister of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training, at the Chief Executive Officers (CxO) Meet-2024, organised to foster collaboration among industry leaders, policymakers and stakeholders.

Mr. Aman Arora graced the event as a Chief Guest, during which MoUs with with 20 industries including National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), Industry Associations from Mohali (SAS Nagar) Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala were inked.

Mr. Aman Arora digitally inaugurated 23 training centres comprising 750 candidates statewide. Additionally, the cabinet minister felicitated 100 winners of the World Skills Competition with medals and certificates.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Aman Arora emphasised that skill development is crucial at present, highlighting Punjab's accomplishments in this area while acknowledging that there is still a long journey ahead to achieve the desired goals. He also urged the industry to actively participate in the mission of empowering the youth of the state with enhanced employability skills.

Mr. Aman Arora further said that the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) organised this event to unite all stakeholders at one platform, while assuring that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, would provide full support, encouraging the industry to collaborate in refining the skills of the youth.

Principal Secretary Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Mrs. Jaspreet Talwar spoke about the initiative that focuses on fostering collaboration and dialogue among senior executives in the skill development sector. She said that the main objective of the event was centred around aligning skill development programs with industry requirements, enhancing employment opportunities and fortifying the skill ecosystem in the state.

A panel discussion on "Shaping the Future of Our Youth & Workforce" explored how to align the youth and workforce of the state with employment opportunities in the evolving market scenario. Water Resources Minister Chetan Singh Jouramajra inspects Bhakra Dam, assesses maintenance and water levels

Asserts Mann government's commitment to optimal utilization of canal water for drinking, irrigation, and industrial purposes

Chandigarh/Nangal, September 17:

Punjab Water Resources and Soil and Water Conservation Minister S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra, on Tuesday, conducted inspection of Bhakra Dam in Nangal to assess the maintenance and water levels of the dam.

During his visit, S. Jouramajra asserted that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government is focusing on groundwater conservation through maximizing canal water usage for drinking, irrigation and industrial needs.

The Cabinet Minister thoroughly examined the dam's maintenance procedures and current water levels, engaging with officials and issuing pertinent directives.

In a media briefing, he said that concerted efforts are being ensured to enhance canal water utilization, including timely repairs where necessary. Reaffirming the Mann government's dedication to fulfilling its obligations within the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), the Cabinet Minister said that state government is committed to complete the recruitment of Punjab's share for state's quota posts in BBMB.

Layer, S. Chetan Singh Jouramajra toured various facilities at Bhakra Dam, including the power generation unit, allied infrastructure and the modern museum. He gained comprehensive insights into the dam's operations from on-site officials. The Minister also planted sapling during the visit.
