Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav has identified the arrested accused person as Akash Gill, a resident of Pakka Chishti in district Fazilka.
“Preliminary investigation reveals the arrested accused is an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang and was providing logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the Murder of Baba Siddiqui,” informed the DGP Punjab in post on his X handle (formerly Twitter).
He said that the accused has been handed over to the Mumbai Police for further investigations.
Sharing operation details, ADGP AGTF Promod Ban said that police teams under the supervision of AIG AGTF Sandeep Goel have been working closely with the Mumbai Police in the Baba Siddiqui murder case, and during ongoing investigation role of accused Akash Gill came to fore.
Acting swiftly, police teams from AGTF led by DSP Rajan Parminder Singh along with launched a joint operation along with Mumbai Crime Branch and arrested the accused from Sulemanki road in Fazilka, he said.

Sarabha (Ludhiana)/Chandigarh, November 16:Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday paid floral tributes to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha on his martyrdom day.
He also paid rich tributes to six more martyrs namely Shaheed Vishnu Ganesh Pingley, Shaheed Jagat Singh, Shaheed Harnam Singh Sialkoti, Shaheed Bakshish Singh, Shaheed Surain Singh (Wadda) and Shaheed Surain Singh (Chhota) who attained martyrdom along with Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha on the same day in first Lahore conspiracy case.
Addressing the gathering during a state-level function to mark the martyrdom day of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha here today, the Cabinet Minister mentioned that Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha was India's youngest revolutionary, who sacrificed his life for our country at the age of 19. He added that this young martyr had been an inspiration for the young generations since ages to work for their country selflessly.
Sond stated that the great martyr played a pivotal role in emancipating the country from the clutches of foreign imperialism adding that as an active leader of the Gadar party, he worked untiringly to attain freedom first abroad and then within the country. He also announced bringing the village name to the tourism map of the state.
Senior AAP leader Dr. KNS Kang thanked the Cabinet Minister and Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab government for presiding over the state level program and announcing financial grants for the club and development of the ancestral village of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha.
Earlier, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond also visited the ancestral house of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and paid floral tributes to the martyr in the main village Chowk as well as the memorial.
The Minister also felicitated Fatehgarh Sahib SSP Ravjot Kaur Grewal who hails from Sarabha village.

Dirba/ Chandigarh, November 16-Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today inaugurated the state level competitions of Kabaddi National Style under the season-3 of 'Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan' from Shaheed Bachan Singh Sports Stadium. While speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that these games were started by the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with the purpose of connecting the people of the state with sports culture. He said that sports primarily contribute for the elimination of drugs from the society and their government is trying to keep Punjabis away from such evil signs through these sports. He said that along with these games, more tireless efforts were also being undertaken by his government to eradicate drugs.
Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that many players of Dirba have brought laurels to the state and the nation by showcasing their skills on international level. He said that in order to provide more facilities to the players, an indoor stadium will also be built for 11 games in the Shaheed Bachan Singh Stadium of Dirba. He said that an amount of Rs.7 crore has been sanctioned for this indoor stadium which will be equipped with world-class facilities and the construction work will also be started very soon.
Before starting the games today, Chief Guest Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema performed the flag hoisting ceremony. After this, the march past saluted the chief guest and took an oath to play the games honestly. Under this sport extravaganza of Kabaddi, the competitions of female players will be conducted from today to 18 November, while the competitions of male players will be conducted from 19 to 21 November. The state level competition of weight lifting has started at Sunam under the Games Watan Punjab Diyan, while the state level competition of Wushu and Roller Skating were also being conducted in Sangrur.
On this occasion, SDM Parmod Singla, OSD Tapinder Singh Sohi, Chairman Milkfed Punjab Narinder Singh Shergill, Chairman Improvement Trust Pritam Singh Peetu, District Sports Officer Sangrur Navdeep Singh, Baljit Kaur, wife of Padma Shri Late Kaur Singh, Paramjit Kaur wife of International Kabaddi coach Late Gurmail Singh and coaches of various games, other dignitaries and players from all the districts of the state were present.
