Chandigarh, December 13, 2024: Today, as a joint initiative of Yuvsatta-NGO, Peace Clubs of over seventeen prominent local Schools, an Army truck carrying gifts of 1300 new woolens for children in Jammu & Kashmir was flagged-off by Mayor Kuldeep Kumar and Sh. Navneet Kumar Srivastava, CEO, CREST, Chandigarh Administration, from KB DAV Sr. Sec. Public School, Chandigarh.
This programme was organized by Yuvsatta with support of Western Command of the Indian Army, CREST (Chandigarh Renewable Energy and Science & Technology Promotion Society), Chandigarh Administration, Independent Schools Association of Chandigarh-ISA and Peace Club of KB DAV Sr. Sec. Public School, Sector 7B, Chandigarh.

Mrs. Pooja Prakash, Principal of KBDAV Sr. Sec. Public School, in her welcome address appreciated the efforts of all students and teachers involved in the endeavour of igniting the virtues of patriotism, friendship and compassion among young students, which can make them not only good citizens but also good human beings too.
Mr. Kuldeep Kumar, Mayor, appreciating the initiative said that bringing armed forces and student’s closer will certainly strengthen the fibre of strong and united India, especially respect for the motherland-Maa Bharati.
Giving information about the initiative Pramod Sharma, founder, Yuvsatta shared that now from the past eleven years, they’re running this '1 India Children’s Friendship Campaign' of collecting new woolens with assistance of Peace Clubs of tricity Schools children in Jammu and Kashmir. Indian Army extends a helping hand always with transportation and later its distribution among the targeted marginalized children.
Mr. Navneet P. Srivastava, CEO, CREST & Conservator of Forests, Chandigarh Administration addressing the gathering shared the tremendous work done by CREST in promotion of solar energy in Chandigarh and how educational institutions can partner with Chandigarh Administration to realize the dream of Solar-city Chandigarh.
