One arrested for consuming liquor

A Case FIR No. 93 u/s 68(1)B PP Act 2007 has been registered at Police Station 19 against Hitesh, R/o Sector-20C, Chandigarh, at around 10:20 PM on 31-12-2024 for drinking and creating nuisance at a public place. The accused was arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Murder

A Case FIR No. 156 u/s 191(2), 191(3), 190, 115(2), 118, 109, 103, 333, 351(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of Shubham R/o Sector-25, Chandigarh. The complainant stated that he was attending a birthday party at his uncle's residence in Sector-25, Chandigarh. At around 9:30 PM, a group of individuals, including Rohit @ Golu Mukhbar, Deep, Binder, Rahul, and others, forcibly entered the house armed with knives, axes, and swords. Rohit @ Golu Mukhbar stabbed the complainant's uncle, Shubham @ Subhi, in the chest, resulting in his death. The accused also injured other family members and threatened to kill them before fleeing the scene. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A Case FIR No. 195 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station 39 on the complaint of Gunj Bahadur, R/o Sector-40, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on 30-12-2024 at around 6:15 PM, a group of five individuals snatched his mobile phone and purse near the Sector 39/40 light point. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A Case FIR No. 141 u/s 305, 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Manimajra on the complaint of lady resident New Darshani Bagh, Manimajra. The complainant reported that on 29-12-2024 after leaving for Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, she was informed by her son Ankit about a break-in at her house. Upon her return on 31-12-2024, she found that the house had been burglarized, with items such as gas cylinders, a LED TV, and gold ornaments stolen. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 194 u/s 305, 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station 39 on the complaint of Triparna Ghosh, R/o Sector-38D, Chandigarh. The complainant stated that after returning from Rajasthan on 30-12-2024, she found that her house had been broken into. The stolen items included various gold and diamond jewelry. No arrests have been made so far. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A Case FIR No. 101 u/s 305(A), 331(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station 49 on the complaint of B.S. Dogra, R/o Ashiana Enclave, Sector-48C. The complainant reported that his daughter, Meenakshi Dogra, residing at Sector-49D, Chandigarh, had gone to Delhi on 24-12-2024. On 31-12-2024, he and his wife visited the flat for cleaning in the morning and left around 9:20 AM. Later, at 7:20 PM, they received a call from a neighbor informing them about a break-in. Upon arrival, they found the doors bolted, locks broken, almirahs damaged, and some cash and ornaments stolen. Investigation of the case is in progress.
