To ensure a safe, peaceful, and well-organized environment, the Chandigarh Traffic Police has put in place comprehensive traffic management measures. These arrangements are designed to ensure smooth traffic flow, provide convenient parking facilities, and ensure the safety of both residents and visitors during the festivities.

To achieve these objectives, approximately 250 personnel from the Chandigarh Traffic Police have been deployed. This includes officers from various ranks, such as DSPs, Inspectors,

Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, Head Constables, Constables, Lady Constables, and volunteers. These officers have been strategically positioned at key locations across the city to perform a range of duties, including static duty points, patrolling, and drunken-driving checkpoints (nakas).

This extensive deployment is aimed at enhancing public safety, maintaining law and order, and ensuring that the celebrations proceed smoothly.

The details are as below :

In addition to the static and patrolling duties, specialized teams have been deployed in mobile units, including towing and recovery vehicles, to address issues such as illegal or obstructive parking. These teams are responsible for ensuring that roads remain clear and accessible, preventing disruptions and ensuring smooth traffic flow. This is part of a broader initiative to provide a seamless and hassle-free experience for all those celebrating the New Year in Chandigarh.

Furthermore, a Traffic Advisory has been issued to the general public, urging them to refrain from drunken driving, hooliganism, rash driving, and other violations. The advisory clearly states that strict legal action will be taken against violators, and their driving licenses may be suspended or canceled.

With these proactive measures in place, the Chandigarh Traffic Police aims to create a safe and responsible environment, allowing the public to enjoy the festivities while minimizing

traffic-related inconveniences and ensuring the safety of all road users.
