CHANDIGARH-27.12.2024-Today, i.e. 27.12.2024, Under the direction of Sh. Manjeet Sheoran, IPS, SP/Operations and under the supervision of Sh. Vikas Sheokand, Dy.SP/Operations to check the preparedness/readiness and coordination between the counter teams of Chandigarh Police and other emergency services of Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh Police Operation Cell has conducted a Mock drill at City Center Mall, DLF Building I.T Park U.T., Chandigarh in connection with up coming New Year & Republic Day Celebration 2025.

All emergencies services/stockholders of Chandigarh Administration are participated actively in the Mock exercise. During Mock drill, City Center Mall, DLF Building I.T Park U.T., Chandigarh was cordoned off and got evacuated by commandos of Operations Cell. A joint search operation by the House Intervention Teams (HIT) of Operation Cell, Bomb Detection Squad and Dog Squad of Chandigarh Police was carried out and the dummy bomb was traced out successfully from the corridor of City Center Mall, DLF Building I.T Park U.T., Chandigarh. Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) and sniper of Operation Cell, Drone team, PCR Vehicles, Traffic interceptor from traffic wing, ambulance from GMSH-16, Police Hospital, Sector-26, Dail-112, Fire tender from fire station Mani Majra, hydraulic platform cum turn table (HPTT) from fire station sector 17, team of Civil Defense, Mobile Forensic Team, a team of local area Police Station reached on the spot immediately.

Thereafter through out search of building has also been conducted by the HIT teams & Bomb Squad Team, but no other suspected person/item came to notice. Further traced dummy bomb has safely taken to open ground of Police Lines, Sector- 26, Chandigarh in a sand bag truck along with pilot and escort of PCR vehicles for defusing the same.
