CHANDIGARH, 25.93.25-With the aim of synergising parent-teacher partnership for student success, the Parent Teacher Association of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, held its annual meeting. The meeting was well attended by parents of students from diverse disciplines. An annual feature of the college, the PTA Meeting is a unique platform to deliberate on issues of common concern and formulate policies inculcating the feedback of the most valuable stakeholders i.e. the parents. A presentation highlighting the illustrious academic and co-curricular achievements and extension activities of the college was shown during the meet. Classical and folk renditions by the students of Music Department mesmerised the audience. During the interactive session, parents were all praises for the college in ensuring overall development of the students as they shared their experiences and views. Parents expressed appreciation for this endeavour of the college to propagate inclusive approach to pragmatic and holistic education. During the meet, the Department of Zoology, in collaboration with MCM Vigyan Manch and MCM Eco-Club, organised a puppet show to mark the celebration of World Water Day. Sponsored by Department of Science & Technology and Renewal Energy, Chandigarh Administration, the puppet show was based on the theme ‘Save Blue, Live Green’. The show highlighted the harmful impact of water pollution on aquatic life, thereby sensitising the audience towards reducing water footprint, and contributing towards water conservation to avoid water crisis.

Principal of the college Ms. Suman Mahajan welcomed parents' feedback, and highlighted the importance of reciprocal cooperation for students’ holistic development. She said that the participation of parents is imperative for progress of the students as well as the college, for and assurance of quality education.
