Chandigarh, February 24 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that the identity of Haryana is associated with “Dhakkad Kissan, Jawan and Pehalwan” (determined farmers, soldiers, and wrestlers). Special attention is being given to infrastructure to promote sports in the state, and athletes are being secured in their future not only through financial assistance but also through reservation in jobs under category A, B, and C.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the "Sansad Khel-Kood Sparda" organized in Kaithal today.

Encouraging athletes to play with the spirit of sportsmanship, the Chief Minister said that in order to promote sports in the state, 1100 sports nurseries are already operational, and a decision has been taken to open 400 more new sports nurseries in this budget. He informed that winners of international competitions are given the highest cash reward in the entire country. Olympic gold medalists are given a prize of Rs. 6 crore, which is the highest from any state.

He said that by providing reservation to athletes in government jobs, their financial stability is ensured. 500 positions under category A, B, and C have been created, out of which 223 positions have been filled. Additionally, the results of 13,000 Group D positions will be announced soon, in which jobs will be given to 1300 sportsperson.

On this occasion, BJP State President and MP Shri Nayab Singh Saini praised the new sports policy formulated by the Chief Minister and said that as a result of it, athletes from the state are bringing medals for the state and the country in national and international competitions.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal honored the Kaithal team, which stood first in this sports competition, with 55 horsepower Indo Farm tractors, medals, certificates, and shields, the Kurukshetra team, which stood second, with 45 horsepower Indo Farm tractors, medals, certificates, and shields, and the Yamunanagar team, which stood third, with medals, certificates, shields, and a reward of Rs. 1.11 lakh.

On this occasion, Haryana Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Krishan Pal, MLA Leela Ram, MLA from Thanesar Subhash Sudha were also present.

MMC for Electricity Abolished

Chandigarh, February 24- Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal once again took a historic decision in the interest of the poor, announcing the discontinuation of the monthly minimum charge (MMC) for electricity consumers with approved loads of up to 2 kilowatts. It is noteworthy that this announcement by the Chief Minister will provide relief of approximately Rs. 275 crores annualy to nearly 8 lakh poor families in the state. The Chief Minister's move in the direction of public welfare in the state is being considered a historic step.

It should be noted that the monthly minimum charge has been determined for consumers whose approved electricity load is up to 2 kilowatts and whose monthly consumption is up to 100 units. This charge is collected at the rate of Rs. 115 rupees per kilowatt per month. Now, Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal has announced in the recent budget to discontinue this monthly minimum charge, which will provide relief of approximately Rs. 275 crores per year to nearly 8 lakh poor families in the state.

Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal has introduced a plethora of concessions to benefit electricity consumers across the region in the budget.

Chandigarh, February 24 - Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal reached Ward No. 1 of Asandh on Saturday on the occasion of Guru Ravidas Jayanti. On this occasion, he first paid obeisance at the Guru Ravidas Temple and offered his heartfelt tributes, expressing his wishes for the prosperity of the state. He said that we should follow the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji in our lives. The Chief Minister also announced a contribution of Rs. 5 lakh for the langar hall at the Guru Ravidas Temple in Asandh.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that although Guru Ravidas Ji was born in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, his teachings are benefiting the country and the world. We are bringing purity into our lives through his holy thoughts. He said that today, by adopting the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji in our lives, we are leading our lives as good citizens. Inspired by the ideals of Guru Ravidas Ji, we have also announced the construction of a magnificent memorial in his name on 5 acres of land in Pipli, Kurukshetra. The land for this memorial has been provided by the HSVP. The foundation stone for this memorial will be laid soon.

Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal said that to spread the thoughts of saints and great personalities to the masses, the Haryana government has celebrated the birth anniversaries of great personalities under the Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman Evam Prasar Yojana. Under this, programs have been organized across the state on the occasions of the birth anniversaries of saints and great personalities.

On this occasion, MP Sanjay Bhatia, MLA, Gharaunda Harvinder Kalyan, SDM Virender Dhull, besides other senior officers were present.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal to flag off 70 mobile veterinary ambulances

Chandigarh, February 24 - Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal will honor livestock breeders tomorrow at the Central University of Haryana campus in the village of Jant Pali, Mahendragarh district, on the second day of the three-day 40th State Livestock Exhibition. In addition to this, the CM will inspect the livestock exhibition and flag off 70 mobile veterinary ambulances for various districts of the state. A government spokesperson said that the Chief Minister will arrive at the Central University of Haryana campus around 3 PM. After that, he will first inspect the 40th State Livestock Exhibition. After this, he will address the citizens at the main pandal in the sports complex. On the second day, the Chief Minister will honor the winning participant under various competition category.

Responding to the demand of management of the Jatav Panchayat Dharamshala and temple on 12 Cross Road, the Home Minister announced a donation of Rs. 5 lakh from his discretionary fund for the installation of a statue of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on 12 Cross Road and for the expansion of the Shrin Guru Ravidas Temple complex in Mahesh Nagar.

Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests Sub-Inspector for taking bribe of Rs 15,000 in Ambala

The accused had demanded the bribe in exchange for submitting a report in the complainant's favour in the High Court

Chandigarh, February 24- A team of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested Sub-Inspector Karam Chand, posted at Mullana police station in Ambala district while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The accused had demanded the bribe in exchange for submitting a report in the complainant's favour in the High Court and getting his regular bail.

Sharing information in this regard an official spokesperson said that a case was registered against the complainant under various sections at Mullana police station. The complainant contacted the Panchkula team of the Haryana ACB and said that Sub-Inspector Karam Chand, posted at Mullana police station in Ambala, was demanding a bribe of Rs 15,000 in exchange for submitting a report in the complainant's favour in the High Court and getting his regular bail.

Based on the complaint received, the facts were investigated and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000. The matter is being investigated by collecting all necessary evidence in this case.

A case has been registered against the accused at the ACB police station in Ambala and he has been arrested. The spokesperson of the bureau appealed to the public that if any officer or employee demands bribes for doing government work, then immediately inform the Haryana ACB on toll-free numbers -1800-180-2022 and 1064.
