DC Monika Gupta passed orders under Section 144 to ensure compliance with the Surakshit School Vahan Policy

Chandigarh, April 13 - Deputy Commissioner, Mahendragarh, Monika Gupta has passed orders under Section 144 of CrPC directing the managements of all schools to ensure safe movement of students to follow the guidelines of the Surakshit School Vahan Policy issued by the Haryana Government.

The DC has passed orders to ensure the safe arrival of students by all school managements under CrPC Section 144. In the orders, it has been clearly stated that proper supervision of buses and drivers by school managements is not being ensured, resulting in serious danger to human life, student safety, and security. Recently, a school bus of GL Public School Kannina met with an accident while transporting students, resulting in the loss of six students' lives and several injuries.

The Police Superintendent, all SDMs of the district, Secretaries, RTA, District Education Officer, and all Block Education Officers of Mahendragarh district will ensure compliance with these orders.

Any violation of this order will be dealt with strictly as per Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Saksham App To Facilitate Easier Voting For Persons-With-Disability

Chandigarh, April 13 - In an effort to ensure participation in all sections of elections, the Election Commission of India is making significant efforts. As part of these efforts, a Saksham App has been developed with the aim of making the use of voting rights for persons with disabilities easy and convenient. This mobile app is a boon for differently-abled voters, considering their convenience.

A spokesperson explained that the Saksham App can be used to avail various voter-centric services related to persons with disabilities in connection with elections. They mentioned that the interface of the Saksham App has been designed to cater to the needs of differently-abled individuals. Through the Saksham App, differently-abled voters can not only check their names in the voter list but also request for wheelchair accessibility to the polling booth, among other services. They can register themselves as new voters, make corrections in their voter cards, link voter cards with Aadhaar, or request for other types of services related to the electoral process. Information about candidates contesting in the elections can also be obtained through the app.

They further explained that through the Saksham App, differently-abled voters can contact for any issues related to voting and also lodge complaints. In addition to this, there are several articles available on the Saksham App for enhancing knowledge related to elections. The Saksham App can be downloaded on Android mobile phones from the Google Play Store. Upon opening the app, options for voter registration, facilities at the polling booth, information related to voter cards, and information and complaint options will be available. After this, the app can be used for other services as well.
