New Mineral Policy to curb illegal mining: Chief Minister

SHIMLA -13th March, 2024-To curb illegal mining and boost revenue, the State Government has recently approved a new Mineral Policy for the year 2024. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said here today that the new policy emphasizes on use of scientific and mechanical techniques for extraction of mineral wealth, while ensuring adequate safeguards for the preservation of environment and ecology.

"The Mineral Policy-2024 would promote sustainable mining practices and increase employment opportunities for the people of the State," he stated. Besides, it will also ensure transparent and efficient governance and for this an integrated online portal would be developed to regulate mining activities and streamline procedures.

"The policy underscores our commitment to maximize revenue for the state while cracking down on illegal mining activities and safeguard the mineral wealth of the state and foster a conducive environment for extraction of mineral assets using scientific means," said Sh. Sukhu. The government would recruit 80 mining guards in the Department of Industries for effective implementation of the policy, he remarked.

Apart from this, Sh. Sukhu said that the government's efforts to generate revenue from its existing resources were yielding positive results as a result of which, an additional amount of Rs. 2200 crore has been generated. The auction-cum-tender process adopted for the liquor vends were paying off well to add to the revenue of the State. "The government will continue such auctions of liquor vends in future, building on the success of previous initiatives," he remarked.

धर्मशाला, 13 मार्च। मुख्यमंत्री ठाकुर सुखविंदर सिंह सुक्खु 14 मार्च को कांगड़ा जिला के अपने एक दिवसीय प्रवास के दौरान पालमपुर, जयसिंहपुर और सुलह विधानसभा क्षेत्र में 492 करोड़ 34 लाख की विकास परियोजनाओं के उद्घाटन तथा शिलान्यास करेंगे। इस दौरान वे जयसिंहपुर विधानसभा क्षेत्र में कुल 140 करोड़ 67 लाख, पालमपुर में 302 करोड़ 51 लाख तथा सुलह विधानसभा क्षेत्र में लगभग 50 करोड़ के विकास कार्यों के उद्घाटन-शिलान्यास करेंगे।

मुख्यमंत्री 14 मार्च (वीरवार) को प्रातः 11ः05 पर जयसिंहपुर मैदान कलामंच में पहुंचकर 13 करोड़ 30 लाख रूपये से निर्मित दो परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन तथा 127 करोड़ 37 लाख से बनने वाली 15 परियोजनाओं को शिलान्यास करेंगे। तत्पश्चात वहां जनसभा को संबोधित करेंगे।

इसके बाद मुख्यमंत्री पालमपुर स्थित विला कैमिलिया में 33 करोड़ 4 लाख की लागत से निर्मित जलशक्ति विभाग की तीन परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन करेंगे। वहीं 269 करोड़ 47 लाख से बनने वाली विभिन्न विभागों की 18 परियोजनाओं का शिलान्यास करेंगे। इस दौरान विला कैमिलिया में आयोजित जनसभा में भाग लेंगे।

दोपहर 2 बजकर 50 मिनट पर मुख्यमंत्री सुलह विधानसभा क्षेत्र के मनसिंबल में जनसभा को संबोधित करने के साथ 49 करोड़ 16 लाख की लागत से निर्मित लोक निर्माण विभाग की सात परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

Himachal targets to be 'Tuberculosis free' by 2025

SHIMLA -13th March, 2024-Secretary Health M.Sudha Devi while presiding over a review meeting of National Health Mission for eradication of Tuberculosis under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program here today, appealed all the departments, particularly the Panchayati raj department to train and motivate Panchayati Raj representatives to make people aware about Tuberculosis (TB) in their areas and to adopt TB patients as 'Nikshay Mitra' and provide them nutritional support in making Himachal Pradesh TB free by 2025.

Apart from this, Sudha Devi appreciated the steps and activities being undertaken for eradication of TB and honoured the departments for the awareness and publicity programmes in this direction.

She said that various NGOs, the people and the Panchayati Raj Institutions should join hands for assisting the initiatives of the government in making Himachal Pradesh Tuberculosis free.

The representatives of various departments viz: Panchayati Raj, AYUSH, Himachal Road Transport Corporation, Rural Development, Youth Services and Sports, Urban Development, Labour and Employment, Industries Department, Tribal Affairs, Prisons, Information Technology, Food Citizen Representatives of Supply, Medical Education and Research Department, Energy, SJVN, Higher Education, Postal Department, Himachal AIDS Control Society, Tourism, Health Safety and Regulation/State Drug Controller and Rotary Club were present in the meeting.

Secretary Health gave valuable inputs to all the departments for the future strategy and instructed to run a special campaign for TB and HIV testing in all educational institutions, nursing training centers, medical institutions and industrial belts in the State.

CM launches Auto-DCR system for approval of building blueprints

Regstd architect now to approve construction of residential building in upto an area of 500 Sq. mts

SHIMLA -13th March, 2024-Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today launched the Auto-DCR (Developments Control Regulation) Building Permission System that will automate the process of building plan scrutiny and approval of blueprints and designs of the buildings.

The Chief Minister said that it will not only ensure transparency but also the accountability in the building permit process and approval of building maps.

Another feature will be that the registered architect is authorized to give permission and approval for construction of residential accommodation in an area of upto 500 Sq. feet. This will provide much relief to the people as they will not have to go to the office of TCP for approvals of residential accommodation stated Sh. Sukhu.

He said that from today onwards, the applicants can apply on the online DCR system within all the planning area under Town and Country Planning (TCP) on http://www.hptcp.hp.gov.in and in six Urban Local Bodies, viz: MC, Shimla, Solan, Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh Development Authority (BBNDA), Municipal Council Theog and Baddi and Nagar panchayat Arki can apply online on the portal.

The Chief Minister said that this will further help to streamline the building permit process and reduce the time and effort required for the planned scrutiny and approval.
