Chandigarh, September 18, 2025-Central Placement Cell organised an interactive session for Training & Placement Officers and Student Placement Coordinators of various departments of Panjab University on September 18, 2025, with an audience of around 120 participants, including Training & Placement Officers (TPO), student placement coordinators and the president and other members of the Panjab University student council. Dr Ravneet Kaur started the session by greeting all the dignitaries, TPOs and student coordinators.

Prof. Meena Sharma, Honorary Director, Central Placement Cell, addressed the audience about the need for a centralised working mechanism for placement-related activities in the university. She emphasised the need to spread systematic awareness about the initiatives taken by the Central Placement Cell to help make CPC accessible to all students. She also highlighted the various activities undertaken by the Central Placement Cell throughout the year. She shared Glimpses of the various initiatives taken by the central Placement cell in the previous year, like webinars, workshops, expert talks, and placement drives, which focus on the overall development and welfare of the students of Panjab University. She also highlighted the need for stronger industry-academia interaction as it will help in the overall development of the students and uplift the institutional ranking of the University. She encouraged the TPOs to undertake various placement activities in collaboration with the Central Placement Cell.

Mr Harshvir Singh, the MD of Drish Infotech Ltd., addressed the audience and highlighted the role played by TPOs in the entire placement process and provided guidance on how to prepare the next generation of workers. He shared his personal experience in the industry and provided valuable insights to students on how to enhance their employability and professional performance. He shared insights to enhance the students' learning experience in the university. He emphasised the need for sound academic fundamentals and a professional code of conduct to make a lasting impact in the professional world. He shared anecdotes and stories from his life to drive home the point that learning and gaining any form of industrial experience in the real world is essential.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Rohini Sharma, Associate Director of the Central Placement Cell, who graciously thanked everyone for their patience and active participation.
