Ludhiana 06 November 2025-Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Adisseo Animal Nutrition India Pvt. Ltd. to launch a joint research project titled ‘Effect of Rumen-Protected Methionine on Blood Methionine Concentrations and Milk Constituents in Crossbred Holstein-Friesian Cows’. The MoU was signed by Dr. P.S. Brar, Director of Research and Dr. Tarun Pal, Commercial Director, Adisseo ISC.

This collaboration exemplifies a powerful industry-academia synergy, harnessing scientific innovation to solve real-world challenges in animal nutrition.” Dr. Tarun Pal said “Adisseo is committed to deliver science-driven, sustainable solutions that enhance animal performance, efficiency, and welfare—ultimately supporting a more responsible and productive livestock sector.”

Dr. P.S. Brar, Director of Research, congratulated both teams on this milestone collaboration: “This partnership marks a significant step toward evidence-based advancements in dairy nutrition, effectively translating cutting-edge research into tangible benefits for farmers.” Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Dr. J.S. Hundal, Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, stated that methionine is the first limiting amino acid in dairy rations, and its targeted supplementation is non-negotiable for high-yielding herds, delivering measurable gains in efficiency and true sustainability. Dr. Sandeep Uniyal, Principal Investigator, said that this project will assess rumen-protected methionine and hydroxy analogues to enhance milk yield, fat, and protein—driving greater farm profitability.
S. Daljit Singh Sadarpura, President, Progressive Dairy Farmers Association and Sh. Munish Sharma, General Manager, PDS welcomed the partnership and explained that this industry-academia collaboration will transform dairy farming.

Dr. R.S. Grewal, Director of Extension Education, stated that the research findings will be disseminated through extension platforms, including Kisan Melas, KVKs, livestock association meetings, podcasts, and other outreach programs.
