Energy Minister Anil Vij Pays Tribute to the Supreme Sacrifice of the Sahibzadas, Says “Had These Martyrdoms Not Taken Place, There Would Have Been Neither Hindus Nor Hindustan”
“The Sahibzadas Sacrificed Their Lives for Faith but Never Bowed,” Says Energy Minister Anil Vij, Calling Their Martyrdom the Greatest Example in the World
Energy Minister Anil Vij Joins Langar Service Organized in Memory of the Sahibzadas and Pays Homage
Chandigarh, December 28: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that history bears no parallel to the Sikh faith when it comes to making such supreme sacrifices to protect religion and Hindustan. He said that had these sacrifices not been made, perhaps neither Hindus nor Hindustan would have survived. Through their martyrdom, they safeguarded the nation and upheld dharma. All four Sahibzadas laid down their lives for their faith—two attained martyrdom while fighting the Mughals in battle, while the two younger Sahibzadas were bricked alive. The Sahibzadas chose martyrdom but refused to abandon their faith. This, he said, stands as the greatest sacrifice in world history made for the protection of religion.
Sh. Vij was addressing devotees during a langar service organized in memory of the martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas in front of the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment.
The Energy Minister further said that, like the Sahibzadas, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji also embraced martyrdom for the protection of faith. He recalled that Hindu priests, distressed by the oppression of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb, had approached Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji for protection, stating that they were being forced to convert. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji challenged the Mughal court, saying that if he were converted first, others would follow. Aurangzeb subjected Guru Ji to severe torture to force conversion, but Guru Ji remained steadfast in his resolve. Eventually, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was beheaded. His sacrifice for dharma, Sh. Vij said, will remain immortal through the ages.
Sh. Vij said that these days are being observed as Shaheedi Diwas, and langar services are being organized everywhere in remembrance of the Sahibzadas and the Gurus. On the Ambala–Chandigarh road, langars are being set up at intervals of every half kilometer so that people remember the sacrifices made by the Gurus and Sahibzadas and remain firm in their faith.
During the langar service, Energy Minister Anil Vij participated in the Ardas, paid obeisance, and bowed his head in tribute to the martyrdom of the Sahibzadas. He also served langar to the devotees. On the occasion, former SGPC member Harpal Singh Pali, B.S. Bindra, Suraj Rana, Sunil Chopra, Praveen Sahni, Ajay Kapoor, Jasveer Singh, Manmohan Singh, Prabhjot Singh and others were present.।

2-km RCC Boundary Wall to Safeguard Ambala Cantt Industrial Area, Securing Jobs of Thousands- Anil Vij
Chandigarh, December 28: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the construction of a concrete boundary wall to protect the Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area from flooding has received final approval from the High Power Works Purchase Committee. The boundary wall will be constructed at a cost of Rs.10.76 crore.
Sh. Vij said that construction work will begin shortly so that the industrial area can be secured before the onset of the rainy season.
The Energy Minister stated that a concrete boundary wall will be built around the industrial area at a cost of Rs. 10.76 crore, for which tenders have already been floated by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC). To protect the industrial area from floodwater, a total of two kilometers of RCC boundary wall will be constructed. The wall will be approximately 10 feet (3 meters) high above ground level, ensuring protection from waterlogging and flooding, especially during the monsoon season.
It is noteworthy that, due to the persistent efforts of Energy Minister Anil Vij, approval for the construction of the boundary wall had earlier been secured and tenders were already finalized. With the receipt of final approval, the work will soon be allotted to the agency and construction will commence. The design of the wall has been prepared by IIT Roorkee.
130 Small and Large Industries Employ Thousands of Workers
There are 130 small and large industrial units in the Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area, primarily engaged in the scientific instruments industry. Thousands of workers are employed in these units, and the livelihoods of thousands of families depend on the smooth functioning of the industrial area. Any disruption here directly impacts a large number of households.
It is pertinent to mention that the Ambala Cantonment Industrial Area was inundated by floodwater in 2023 and 2025, caused by overflow from the Tangri River, resulting in significant damage. To prevent such losses in the future, Minister Anil Vij had directed the construction of a boundary wall. Funds were approved earlier and tenders were floated. With the final clearance now granted, the industrial area will soon be safeguarded against flooding.

“Those Who Only Weep Lose, Those Who Sing Gain”: Energy Minister Anil Vij Interacts with Artists in Ambala
My Vision of Building an Open-Air Theatre in the Heart of the City Is Succeeding; I Wanted My City to Laugh, Dance and Sing: Anil Vij
Energy Minister Anil Vij Lauds Artists’ Performances at Musical ‘Sur Aradhna’ Programme at Subhash Park Open-Air Theatre
Chandigarh, December 28: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that everyone is feeling delighted after witnessing the performances of singers and artists at Subhash Park in Ambala, but he himself is the happiest, as his vision of creating an open-air theatre in the heart of the city is becoming a reality. He said that he always wanted the people of his city to laugh, dance, and sing. Merely lamenting achieves nothing. Quoting a principle, he said, “Those who weep lose, while those who sing gain.”
Sh. Anil Vij was addressing the gathering this evening as the Chief Guest at the musical programme ‘Sur Aradhna’, organized by the Sada Bahaar Sangeet Premi Group at the Open-Air Theatre in Subhash Park, Ambala Cantonment.
The Energy Minister said that music, with its melody and rhythm, is a universal language that touches the soul and has the power to communicate directly with the heart. That is why composers create music through rhythm and melody. Songs sung within the framework of the seven musical notes deeply connect with people. He expressed confidence that talented singers from Ambala would one day reach Mumbai. He said that everyone possesses talent, but without the right platform, talent remains unrecognized. If one lacks ability, opportunities alone cannot ensure success; however, when talent is matched with opportunity, success is inevitable.
Sh. Vij further said that similar to the Subhash Park Open-Air Theatre, another open-air theatre with a seating capacity of 2,500 has been constructed at the Shaheed Smarak, enabling artists not only from Ambala Cantonment but from across India to perform there. The venue has been beautifully designed, featuring a lake in front of the stage with fountains, where films will be screened on water fountains and lotus-shaped displays. He added that letters have been sent to all Indian states inviting them to celebrate their state foundation days at the Ambala Shaheed Smarak, so that people can experience the cultural essence of the entire country in Ambala itself.
Energy Minister said that the programme gave him immense happiness and that hard work is yielding results, with efforts now bearing flowers and fruit. After the programme, Sh. Anil Vij also honored the artists by presenting them with awards. Earlier, upon his arrival at the venue, he was warmly welcomed by the organizers, the Sada Bahaar Group. On the occasion, Councillor Naresh Dhawan, Shivaji Kakran, Shyam Sundar Arora, Mahesh Aggarwal, Anil Bahl Pappu, Deepak Bhasin, Suman Jain and others were present.
