Chandigarh, 24 February: Red Ribbon Club and AIDS Awareness Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a Badge Decoration Competition on the theme ‘Rethink. Rebuild. Rise’. The activity aimed at spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and encouraging students to express their understanding of the issue through artistic representation.

A total of 18 participants actively took part in the competition. They creatively designed badges centered on themes of HIV/AIDS awareness, empathy, prevention, and social responsibility. The college provided badges, while participants brought their own decorative materials to bring their ideas to life. The iconic Red Ribbon symbol, representing solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS, was prominently reflected in many of the designs. The competition not only fostered creativity among students but also reinforced the importance of awareness, inclusion, and responsible behaviour among youth. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three participants, while certificates were distributed to all participants in recognition of their sincere efforts.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of the organisers and participants, stating that such initiatives play a vital role in sensitising young minds, promoting compassion, and building a more informed and inclusive society.
