Chandigarh, April 6 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the largest party in the world. It operates on principles, and its main principles include Antyodaya (upliftment of the last person), social harmony, nationalism, cultural nationalism, and economic development. He said that they are an ideological party and not a herd like other parties.
Sh. Vij was speaking to media persons today after hoisting the flag on the occasion of the BJP’s foundation day.
He said that recently a camp was organized in Ambala Cantonment for BJP workers, where they were kept for 24 hours. In this camp, workers were informed and discussions were held about the party’s principles, working methods, ideology, and organizational matters.
While interacting with the media, Sh. Vij also mentioned the formation of the party, stating that in 1951 the Jan Sangh political party was established. This party was led for a long time by Syama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Criticizing the activities of the Congress party, he said that when former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed Emergency in the country, many leaders were jailed without fault. Due to public anger against her, she ended the Emergency and announced elections.
He further explained that to defeat Indira Gandhi in those elections, various parties formed the Janata Party. The Janata Party contested elections and formed the government, but after a few years it broke apart. After its breakup, on April 6, 1980, members of the Jan Sangh formed a separate party named the Bharatiya Janata Party. He added that today is the party’s foundation day.
In response to a question about establishing a Driving Training and Research Institute and an Automated Vehicle Testing Station in Shahpur, Ambala Cantonment, Sh. Vij said that obtaining a driving license requires a driving certificate, and people earlier had to travel far for it. Therefore, approval has been given to set up a driving school in Ambala Cantonment itself. Funds have been sanctioned and administrative approval has also been granted. Further action will begin soon, and people of Ambala will not have to travel far to obtain driving certificates.
