Two arrested under Gambling Act
A case FIR No. 42 u/s 13.3.67 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station IT Park arrested Gulam Gaus R/o #387/1, EWS Flat, Maloya, aged 48 years and Santosh S/o Lalu R/o #1507, EWS Flat, Dhanas, aged 18 years 6 months, near Lucky Car Bazar, Gali Shastri Nagar, Chandigarh, while playing satta. Cash Rs. 4,970/- was recovered from their possession. The accused were later released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested in Theft case
A case FIR No. 59 u/s 305(D), 331(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Ram Kailash S/o Sh. Raje Ram R/o Lal Dwara Mandir, Sector-40/A, Chandigarh, who reported that Shubham S/o Pardeep R/o #2675, DMC, Chandigarh, aged 19 years, stole cash and coins from the donation box of the temple on 24-04-2026. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating (Cyber)
A case FIR No. 61 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of a lady R/o Sector-18/D, Chandigarh, aged 57 years, who reported that an unknown person cheated her of Rs. 49,91,324/- on the pretext of investment fraud. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 60 u/s 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Amandeep Singh Bhatti (Security), R/o Indian Red Cross Society, Karuna Sadan Building, Sector-11/B, Chandigarh, who alleged that Amit Giri and others of M/s Samrat Security cheated him of Rs. 82,36,851/-. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Negligent conduct with respect to fire
A case FIR No. 66 u/s 287, 326(F), 324(4), 324(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Parveen Kumar S/o Vijay Pal R/o #525, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 49 years, who stated that an unknown person set his vehicle on fire during the intervening night of 22/23-04-2026 at about 02:30 AM. The vehicle and documents (DL, RC, insurance, etc.) were burnt. Investigation of the case is in progress.
