*Chandigarh, May 2:*Under the proactive leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Yojana has evolved into a large-scale movement across Punjab, with more than 1,100 pilgrims undertaking comfortable and well-organised journeys to sacred destinations every day. Reflecting a people-centric approach, the initiative underscores the Bhagwant Mann Government’s commitment to serving its citizens with sincerity and care.
The success of this initiative is driven by meticulous planning and well-coordinated arrangements that ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience. A fleet of 95 deluxe air-conditioned buses has been deployed across the state to facilitate travel for devotees aged 50 and above. These buses pick up pilgrims directly from their doorsteps across villages, towns and cities and transport them to revered religious and historical destinations, informed Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian.
Pilgrims are taken to Sri Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar, along with visits to several other spiritual and heritage sites. Additionally, buses operating from the Amritsar region also take devotees to Sri Anandpur Sahib and nearby places of religious significance, including the iconic Virasat-e-Khalsa Museum. This offers a unique blend of spirituality and history for all participants.
A key highlight of the initiative is the well-developed tent city at Sri Anandpur Sahib, which can accommodate 700 pilgrims. Designed with comfort and dignity in mind, the facility includes all essential amenities. Each tent is equipped with an attached bathroom, while dedicated common areas for kirtan and meditation provide a serene spiritual environment. A shared dining hall ensures hygienic and organised meal services and the entire tent city is fully air-conditioned to provide relief during the summer months.
He further informed that during travel, pilgrims are provided with clean drinking water and light refreshments. From breakfast to dinner, along with accommodation, all services are offered completely free of cost, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder anyone’s spiritual aspirations.
To further enhance the experience, the Bhagwant Mann Government has deployed around 900 dedicated volunteers who assist pilgrims throughout their journey. From guidance to on-ground support, these personnel ensure that every traveller is cared for with attention and respect, he added.
The smooth and efficient execution of the initiative highlights the thoughtful planning and strong administrative framework behind it. Pilgrims across the state have widely appreciated the programme, expressing gratitude as they witness their long-held aspirations of visiting sacred places being fulfilled.
The Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Yojnaa stands as a reflection of compassion in action, bringing faith, dignity and fulfilment into the lives of thousands across Punjab.
