CHANDIGARH, 07.05.26-An awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was organized today at the Community Centre, Indira Colony, Chandigarh, under the guidance of Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandigarh, Sh. Sunil Kumar.

Addressing the gathering, Sh. Sunil Kumar emphasized that crimes against children are a serious challenge and society as a whole must remain vigilant and aware. He stressed the importance of sensitizing children about offences committed against them and educating them about their rights and safety measures. He also highlighted the importance of timely reporting and informed the participants about the National Helpline Number 15100 for assistance and support.

During the programme, awareness was created among children and residents regarding child protection laws, safety measures, and legal remedies available under the POCSO Act. Bags, books and other study material were also distributed among the children present on the
