CHANDIGARH, 29.05.26-In response to UT Administration's initiative of inviting suggestions from RWAs on the draft amendments to Chandigarh Master Plan-2032, Colonel Gursewak Singh ( War Veteran ), President, Residents Welfare Association MHC Sector-13 Chandigarh has submitted the following suggestions pertaining to MHC to Chief Architect Urban Planning Department Chandigarh :

1. Multi-level Parking:
MHC has a high-density population of affluent residents and, consequently, the highest car density in the area. In the absence of designated parking, vehicles are often parked on roads, pedestrian paths, or in front of neighbouring houses, leading to disputes and conflicts. A multi-level parking facility on the available adjoining government land would help ease this problem.

2. Playgrounds:
There is no dedicated play area around MHC. The only space earlier used by children for play has now been utilized for the 24x7 water project. Provision of proper playgrounds, especially for children, is a pressing need.

3. Green Belt with Walking Track:
In the absence of a suitable walking space, residents are compelled to walk on narrow residential roads. Walking on such roads is hazardous due to heavy vehicular traffic. A vacant government land adjoining MHC be converted into a Green Belt with a dedicated walking track.

4. Diversionary Link Road:
A short link road from the RUB to divert Panchkula-bound traffic would ease congestion in the MHC residential area.

Col Singh said that inclusion of said points in the Master Plan – 2031 will provide much-needed relief to the residents of MHC.
