Chandigarh, May 30:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh has issued a final appeal to all residential and commercial property owners to deposit their Property Tax on or before 31 May 2026, the last date to avail attractive rebate benefits under the Property Tax Assessment Period.

As per the provisions, property owners can avail a 20% rebate on Residential Property Tax and a 10% rebate on Commercial Property Tax if the payment is made within the prescribed period ending on 31 May 2026.

Appealing to the citizens, Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, urged all taxpayers to make use of the online payment facility and Sampark Centres to clear their dues without delay and take advantage of the rebate benefits.

The Commissioner stated that timely payment of property tax not only helps citizens save money but also contributes significantly towards the development and maintenance of civic infrastructure and public services in the city.

He further informed that after the expiry of the rebate period, defaulters will be liable to pay a 25% penalty over and above the prescribed tax amount, along with interest @ 12%, as per the applicable rules.

The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh once again appeals to all property owners to utilize this final opportunity and deposit their property tax positively by 31 May 2026 to avoid penalties and avail the rebate benefits.
