MAHENDERGARH, 07.07.26-Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Public Relations Officer of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has been conferred the prestigious 'Nagari Sevi Samman-2026' in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the promotion, propagation, and advancement of the Nagari script.
The honour was presented during the 50th National Nagari Lipi Convention, jointly organized by the Nagari Lipi Parishad, New Delhi, and the Bengaluru Hindi Academy, Bengaluru. The award ceremony was held on June 21, 2026, in Bengaluru and was attended by eminent linguists, academicians, writers, and scholars from across the country.
Congratulating Dr. Singh on this achievement, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar said that the University's faculty members continue to enhance the institution's reputation through their academic excellence and achievements at the national level. He expressed confidence that Dr. Singh would continue to make significant contributions towards the preservation, promotion, and dissemination of the Nagari script, the Hindi language, and the Indian Knowledge System.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma also extended his congratulations and remarked that the Nagari script is a strong foundation of India's knowledge tradition and cultural heritage. Appreciating Dr. Singh's dedicated efforts in this field, he said that the honour is a matter of pride for the entire University and would inspire young faculty members and researchers to work towards the advancement of Indian languages and the Nagari script.
Presenting the award, Dr. Harisingh Pal, General Secretary of the Nagari Lipi Parishad, New Delhi, and Dr. Ispaq Ali, President of the Bengaluru Hindi Academy, observed that Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh has been actively engaged for several years in promoting the scientific dimensions of the Nagari script. They expressed confidence that he would continue to play a proactive role in advancing the Nagari script as a globally recognized scientific writing system.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh is also serving as the Deputy Dean of Students' Welfare at the Central University of Haryana. He is currently editing a scholarly book on the scientific aspects of the Nagari script. On receiving the honour, Dr. Singh dedicated the award to his parents, teachers, colleagues at the University, and his students, acknowledging their constant support and inspiration in his academic journey.
