Young Professionals Discuss Smart & Sustainable Agriculture at Viksit Bharat Roundtable in Panjab University

Chandigarh, July 24, 2026:MY Bharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the NSS Unit, Panjab University, organised the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 - Young Professionals Roundtable on the theme "Smart & Sustainable Agriculture for Viksit Bharat" at Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The programme brought together nearly 200 MY Bharat volunteers, NSS volunteers, young professionals and youth leaders to deliberate on policy recommendations for building a technology-driven, sustainable agricultural ecosystem in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

The roundtable focused on integrating technology with sustainable farming practices, promoting climate-resilient agriculture, encouraging youth-led agri-entrepreneurship, strengthening Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), improving soil health, adopting natural farming methods and leveraging digital innovations to enhance agricultural productivity and food security. Participants actively contributed ideas and recommendations during an interactive open-floor discussion with experts, highlighting the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of Indian agriculture.

Dr. Sukhjinder Rishi, Director, Youth Welfare, Panjab University, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The event was also attended by Ms. Rashmeet Kaur, State Director, MY Bharat Punjab; Sh. Shivdhan Sharma, UT Director, MY Bharat Chandigarh; and Sh. Akarsh Dixit, State Director, MY Bharat Haryana, as Special Guests.

The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address and an overview of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. The technical session featured Dr. Sanjeev Chauhan and Mr. LivArpit Sandhu as panel experts, while Sh. Pancham Cajla moderated the deliberations.

The event was organised under the leadership of Sh. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh, with the support of Dr. Bharat Bajaj and Dr. Kiran Bandra, NSS Programme Officers, Panjab University. Their coordinated efforts ensured the successful conduct of the programme and enthusiastic participation from the youth.

The roundtable concluded with a collective commitment to empower young people as key stakeholders in advancing sustainable agriculture. The recommendations emerging from the discussions will contribute to the broader objectives of the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue and support India's journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.

पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय में ‘विकसित भारत’ विषय पर स्मार्ट एवं सतत कृषि पर युवा पेशेवरों की राउंड टेबल चर्चा आयोजित

चंडीगढ़, 24 जुलाई, 2026:भारत सरकार के युवा कार्यक्रम एवं खेल मंत्रालय के माई भारत (MY Bharat) द्वारा पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय की एनएसएस इकाई के सहयोग से राजीव गांधी कॉलेज भवन, पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय, चंडीगढ़ में "विकसित भारत के लिए स्मार्ट एवं सतत कृषि" विषय पर विकसित भारत यंग लीडर्स डायलॉग (VBYLD) 2026 के अंतर्गत युवा पेशेवरों की राउंड टेबल चर्चा का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में माई भारत स्वयंसेवकों, एनएसएस स्वयंसेवकों, युवा पेशेवरों तथा युवा नेताओं सहित लगभग 200 प्रतिभागियों ने भाग लिया और विकसित भारत@2047 के विज़न के अनुरूप प्रौद्योगिकी आधारित एवं सतत कृषि पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के निर्माण हेतु नीतिगत सुझावों पर विचार-विमर्श किया।

राउंड टेबल चर्चा के दौरान सतत कृषि पद्धतियों के साथ आधुनिक प्रौद्योगिकी के समावेश, जलवायु-अनुकूल कृषि को बढ़ावा देने, युवाओं को कृषि उद्यमिता के लिए प्रोत्साहित करने, किसान उत्पादक संगठनों (एफपीओ) को सशक्त बनाने, मृदा स्वास्थ्य में सुधार, प्राकृतिक खेती को अपनाने तथा कृषि उत्पादकता एवं खाद्य सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए डिजिटल नवाचारों के उपयोग जैसे विषयों पर विस्तार से चर्चा हुई। विशेषज्ञों के साथ आयोजित संवादात्मक मुक्त चर्चा में प्रतिभागियों ने अपने नवाचारपूर्ण विचार एवं सुझाव प्रस्तुत किए तथा भारतीय कृषि के भविष्य के निर्माण में युवाओं की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका पर बल दिया।

कार्यक्रम में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय के युवा कल्याण निदेशक डॉ. सुखजिंदर ऋषि मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे। इस अवसर पर माई भारत पंजाब की राज्य निदेशक सुश्री रश्मीत कौर, माई भारत चंडीगढ़ के यूटी निदेशक श्री शिवधन शर्मा तथा माई भारत हरियाणा के राज्य निदेशक श्री आकर्ष दीक्षित विशेष अतिथि के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।

कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ दीप प्रज्ज्वलन के साथ हुआ, जिसके उपरांत स्वागत भाषण तथा विकसित भारत यंग लीडर्स डायलॉग का परिचय प्रस्तुत किया गया। तकनीकी सत्र में डॉ. संजीव चौहान एवं श्री लिवअर्पित संधू ने विशेषज्ञ पैनलिस्ट के रूप में अपने विचार साझा किए, जबकि श्री पंचम काजला ने राउंड टेबल चर्चा का सफल संचालन किया।

इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन माई भारत चंडीगढ़ के जिला युवा अधिकारी श्री विनय कुमार के नेतृत्व में किया गया। कार्यक्रम के सफल आयोजन में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय के एनएसएस कार्यक्रम अधिकारी डॉ. भारत बजाज एवं डॉ. किरण बांद्रा का महत्वपूर्ण सहयोग रहा। उनके समन्वित प्रयासों से कार्यक्रम का सफल संचालन एवं युवाओं की उत्साहपूर्ण सहभागिता सुनिश्चित हुई।

राउंड टेबल चर्चा का समापन सतत कृषि को बढ़ावा देने में युवाओं को प्रमुख भागीदार के रूप में सशक्त बनाने के सामूहिक संकल्प के साथ हुआ। चर्चा से प्राप्त सुझाव एवं अनुशंसाएँ विकसित भारत यंग लीडर्स डायलॉग के व्यापक उद्देश्यों को आगे बढ़ाने तथा वर्ष 2047 तक भारत को एक विकसित राष्ट्र बनाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देंगी।
