as part of the ongoing Induction Week 2026. The workshop aimed at equipping fresh entrants with practical life-saving skills and fostering a culture of preparedness in the face of emergencies.
The workshop was conducted by Mr Arpit Dubey, Disaster Management Instructor, and Search and Rescue Operations expert. Through interactive sessions, he acquainted students with the fundamentals of disaster preparedness, risk assessment, evacuation procedures, and emergency response mechanisms. A major highlight of the programme was the hands-on demonstration of essential rescue and first-aid techniques. Students witnessed practical drills on safe victim evacuation, handling emergencies, and administering immediate assistance during disasters. The resource person emphasised that timely intervention, presence of mind, and community participation are crucial in minimising the impact of natural and man-made disasters.

Officiating Principal Ms Neena Sharma said that disaster preparedness is an essential life skill that empowers individuals to respond calmly and responsibly in times of crisis. She added that such experiential learning programmes not only enhance students’ awareness and confidence but also nurture socially responsible citizens who can contribute meaningfully to community safety and resilience.
