Chandigarh, August 7:The 3rd National Lok Adalat for the year 2026 will be organised on 12 September 2026 under the leadership of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Punjab and Haryana-cum-Patron-in-Chief, State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Harsimran Singh Sethi, Executive Chairman, State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh.

During the National Lok Adalat, a wide range of cases, including civil disputes and compoundable criminal cases, will be taken up for amicable settlement. These include recovery matters, labour disputes, consumer cases, cheque bounce cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, matrimonial disputes, motor accident claim cases and other matters suitable for settlement through mutual consent.

To facilitate litigants, Help Desks will be set up on every floor of the District Court Complex, Sector 43, Chandigarh. These Help Desks will be manned by officials of the State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh to guide litigants and provide necessary assistance regarding the Lok Adalat proceedings.

Benches headed by serving Judicial Officers will be constituted to conduct the National Lok Adalat and facilitate speedy, cost-effective and amicable resolution of disputes.

Appealing to the litigant public to make the maximum use of this opportunity, Shri Arun Kumar Aggarwal, Member Secretary, State Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, urged parties to approach their respective courts or the State/District Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, to have their eligible cases listed in the National Lok Adalat for settlement through mutual consent.
