Chandigarh, August 11:- Chandigarh Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi today called upon citizens to transform the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign into a mass movement of patriotism—‘Har Dil Tiranga’, as he flagged off a 2.5-km Tiranga Yatra from the Municipal Corporation office in Sector 17.

The Yatra, organised by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, was held in the presence of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, senior officers and councillors. A large number of MC employees, representatives of the Sector 17 Market Welfare Association and local residents participated enthusiastically, carrying the Tricolour with pride.

Addressing the gathering, Mayor Joshi said the Tiranga Yatra symbolised the unity, integrity and collective spirit of the nation. He said the campaign was an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and inspire the younger generation to embrace a ‘Nation First’ approach.

“The Tricolour in our hands should reflect patriotism in our hearts. Let ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ become ‘Har Dil Tiranga’,” the Mayor said, urging citizens to reaffirm their commitment towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

He said the Yatra would help connect the younger generation with the sacrifices and dedication of the freedom fighters and inspire them to contribute towards the nation’s progress.

MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, said the National Flag was a proud symbol of India’s unity, integrity, valour and national pride. He urged citizens to participate wholeheartedly in the campaign and strengthen the spirit of national unity.

The procession passed through the Sector 17 Market Plaza and witnessed enthusiastic participation from residents and shopkeepers. Cultural performances and patriotic songs presented by local Self Help Groups added to the festive spirit. The Sector 17 Market Welfare Association, led by its President Sh. Sanjiv Chadha, also actively participated in the Yatra.
