Chandigarh, September 4:Newly appointed Punjab President of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s SC Morcha, Sheetal Angural, today assumed charge of his new responsibility at a programme held at the Punjab BJP office. Punjab BJP State President Sardar Kewal Singh Dhillon was specially present on the occasion. He congratulated Sheetal Angural on his new responsibility by formally seating him in the chair in his office and wished him a successful tenure.

SC Morcha National General Secretary Sanjay Nirmal, former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, former SC Morcha President S.R. Laddhar and National Secretary Santokh Singh Gumtala, State Media Head BJP Punjab Vineet Joshi, along with office-bearers of the SC Morcha, district-level leaders and a large number of BJP workers were present on the occasion.

Congratulating Sheetal Angural, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that he is a hardworking, active and grassroots-oriented leader. He expressed confidence that under Angural’s leadership, the SC Morcha would work effectively to further strengthen the BJP organisation across every part of Punjab.

He said the new president should draw upon the experience and support of former presidents of the Morcha, particularly S.R. Laddhar, as well as other senior leaders, to further strengthen the SC Morcha.

Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the SC community has made a very important contribution to the progress of Punjab and the country, and that the all-round development of the nation cannot be envisioned without the participation of the community. He said that the BJP has always drawn inspiration from the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji and Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji.

He said that the BJP is continuously working for social harmony by taking forward the concept of ‘Begampura’ envisioned by Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, where there is no discrimination against anyone and every individual has the right to live a life of dignity, as well as the message of equality and social justice given by Baba Sahib Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji.

Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the 650th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Ravidas Ji is being celebrated across the country as the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’. As part of the campaign, a Kalash Yatra carrying the sacred soil from the birthplace of Guru Sahib is travelling to different parts of the country. He said the SC Morcha should play an increasingly active role in such social and service-oriented initiatives.

Targeting the Punjab Government over the prevailing situation in the state, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has pushed Punjab backwards on every front. He said the situation regarding drugs, law and order and gangsterism in the state remains alarming, while every section of society—including youth, farmers, labourers, employees and teachers—is disappointed with the performance of the government.

He said that the people of Punjab are now looking towards the BJP with the hope of change. Therefore, the responsibility of party workers has increased further. He said that on the one hand, workers will have to expose the anti-people policies and failures of the Punjab Government before the people, while on the other, they will have to make people aware of the welfare schemes and achievements of the BJP-led Central Government.

He said the active participation of the SC Morcha should be ensured in every programme organised by the party. The SC Morcha will also have an important role in the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ being launched on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. He urged workers to actively work towards ensuring that the benefits of Central Government welfare schemes reach poor and needy people.

Calling for preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that the time has come for every party worker to enter the field wholeheartedly and work with full commitment. He said the 2027 elections are not merely about a change of government, but about resolving to put Punjab back on the path of development, prosperity and progress.

He said that if the SC Morcha works with full strength at the grassroots level and every worker maintains continuous contact with people in their respective areas, the goal of forming a strong BJP government in Punjab in 2027 can be achieved.

On the occasion, newly appointed State President Sheetal Angural thanked Punjab BJP State President Kewal Singh Dhillon and the senior leadership of the party, saying that he would discharge the responsibility entrusted to him by the party with complete honesty and dedication. He assured that the SC Morcha would work with full strength to take the party’s programmes and policies to the grassroots level and would play an important role in ensuring the formation of a BJP government in Punjab in 2027.
