Chandigarh: September 15, 2026: Hindi Day was celebrated on September 14, 2026 at the local head office of State Bank of India, Chandigarh. The Hindi Diwas celebration was presided over by Shri Amaresh Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle. All three General Managers of Circle, Shri Manmeet Chhabra, Shri Binod Kumar Sinha and Shri Naveen Misra were also present on the occasion. The guests were welcomed by Shri Jogesh Mahesh Raval, Deputy General Manager and Circle Development Officer. The program started with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, followed by the reading of the message of the Chairman of the Bank issued on the occasion of Hindi Diwas. With this the Hindi Fortnight was formally launched.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Amaresh Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager said that one can express in one's language in a simple and easy manner. We can express our point of view better in our own language and it is more effective too. Therefore, we should feel proud of our language. Regional language should also be taken care of for communicating with customers in the bank and we must learn the language of the place where we live. On this occasion, he called upon the staff members to contribute to the development of the bank and the nation by doing more and more work in Hindi.
This was followed by a Hindi extempore competition which was enthusiastically participated by the staff members including senior executives. Assistant General Manager (Official Language), Ms. Smiti Misra gave details about the competitions to be organized during the fortnight and delivered vote of thanks.
