Chandigarh, September 23:The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, today released the Special Edition of ‘Sankalp’, the official magazine of Punjab Lok Bhavan, at Punjab Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, Shri Vivek Partap Singh; Secretary Education & Public Relations, UT Chandigarh, Ms. Prerna Puri; Director Public Relations, UT Chandigarh, Shri Rajiv Tewari; and Deputy Director Press to Governor, Shri Gurmeet Singh Khaira.
The special edition of magazine, titled “2 Saal Punjabiyon Ke Saath: Seva, Samarpan Aur Vikas”, chronicles various initiatives, public engagements and developmental activities undertaken during the past two years in Punjab and Chandigarh.
In his message published in the magazine, Shri Kataria described his association with Punjab as not merely a constitutional responsibility, but a journey of connecting with the soul of this great land and its people. He said that courage, sacrifice, service, hard work and humanity are the defining strengths of Punjab and recalled the enduring message of selfless service, equality, justice and “Sarbat Da Bhala” inspired by the great Sikh Gurus.
The Governor also referred to his sustained campaign against drug abuse, including nearly 100-km-long anti-drug padyatras conducted in different phases over 25 days, during which he interacted with students, families and social and religious organisations. Shri Kataria also recalled the spirit of service displayed by Punjabis during floods, when people came forward to support one another and share their resources with those in need.
Highlighting Chandigarh’s progress, the magazine also covers initiatives in education, sports, environment, digital governance, healthcare, public transport and social welfare, besides scholarships and awards for sportspersons.
The Governor said that the past two years had reinforced his belief that real transformation takes place when people themselves become partners in the process. He expressed the hope that Punjab and Chandigarh would continue to move forward with humanity alongside development, nature alongside progress, and sensitivity alongside achievement.
