Chandigarh, 5 October: The No Nasha Nation Task Force (NNNTF) at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, under the aegis of Arya Yuva Samaj, organised ‘Reelvolution- Create Reels, Inspire Change’, a first-of-its-kind digital awareness competition wherein student-created anti-drug messages were taken to social media and opened to public engagement and evaluation. The initiative provided students with an opportunity to use creativity, storytelling and digital communication to address an issue of significant relevance to young people.
13 teams took part in the competition and created original reels on themes including saying no to substance abuse, peer pressure and making the right choice, healthy ways to manage stress, supporting a friend in need, myths and facts about addiction, the impact of substance abuse on health and future, and choosing a drug-free life. The reels were shared through the NNNTF social media platform, extending the campaign beyond the college campus and enabling wider public participation in the evaluation process. Collectively, the 13 entries generated 62,208 views, 2,781 likes and 7,426 shares within the 24-hour evaluation period, reflecting significant audience reach and engagement with the awareness messages. As per the final scoreboard, team AWARE, COURAGE and VOICE secured the first three positions, followed by team HEAL and FUTURE.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma asserted that meaningful student engagement and socially relevant initiatives help foster a culture of awareness, responsibility and positive action among students. She added that the initiative marked a meaningful effort by NNNTF to use social media as a platform for youth-focused awareness, extending the reach of the campaign beyond the college campus and connecting student-created messages with a wider audience.
