Two arrested under NDPS act
A case FIR No. 21 u/s 20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Manimajra Lakshman Singh R/o Kullu (HP), aged 30 years, who was apprehended near Housing Board Light Point parking, Shamshan Ghat, Manimajra, on 06-02-2026 at about 8:15 pm, and 694 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. The accused is in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 30 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya against Banno R/o Shastri Colony, DMC, Chandigarh, aged 58 years, who was apprehended near House No. 2739, DMC on 06-02-2026 at about 1:30 pm, and 14.71 grams of heroin was recovered from her possession. The accused has been arrested and is in police lock-up.
Assualt
A case FIR No. 23 u/s 115(2), 140(3), 142, 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31 on the complaint of Vijay Kumar R/o Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, stating that on 05-02-2026, while dropping his relative Sushil @ Sahil near Ravidas Mandir, Hallo Majra, three to four boys on motorcycles forcibly abducted him at about 4:30 pm. The complainant further stated that the crime was committed due to a revenge motive related to an earlier road accident case. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Snatching
A case FIR No. 14 u/s 304(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-36 on the complaint of a woman R/o Kharar, Mohali, alleging that three unknown pedestrians snatched her mobile phone near Sector 42/43 small chowk on 05-02-2026 at about 4:30 pm and fled away. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Theft
A case FIR No. 29 u/s 305(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11 on the complaint of Neha Kishore R/o Sector-15, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person stole ₹2 lakh cash, gold, diamond and silver jewellery and utensils from her house on 05-02-2026 at about 1:00 pm. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 27 u/s 305(A) BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of Kamal Kumar R/o Sector-30B, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person stole gold and silver jewellery and ₹80,000 cash from his house on 05-02-2026 at about 8:00 pm. Investigation of this case is in progress.
Accident
A case FIR No. 20 u/s 281, 106 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-34 on the complaint of a woman resident of Sector-44B, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown car driver hit her father-in-law Vijay Kumar Chawla near Sector 34/44 dividing road on 06-02-2026 at about 6:15 pm, resulting in his death at GMCH-32. Investigation is in progress.
A case FIR No. 14 u/s 281, 125(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dinesh Yadav R/o Baltana, District Mohali (Punjab), aged 36 years, stating that Akil, driver of motorcycle No. CH01 DB 2651, hit a cart driver namely Om Parkash S/o Binsari R/o near Nirankari Bhawan, Safeda Colony, Naya Gaon, Mohali (Punjab) near Sector-4/9 dividing road on 04-02-2026 at about 4:45 am, as a result of which Om Parkash sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-32.
